Scenic Views and a Relaxing Atmosphere on a Prestigious Estate
Amelia Place looks like a stately ranch in the heart of Council Bluffs, Iowa, where residents get fresh air on the large porch, walk the manicured paths in the courtyard, and take in some quiet time in the chairs by the pale brick fireplace. The back patio sits under a custom, extended pergola with vibrant, green lawns and shrubbery as a calming feast for the eyes.
Community rooms are spacious with large ceilings, leaving space for seniors to chat, play games, or engage in other activities like crafts.
Residents have access to physical therapy, mental wellness programs and community outings. Residents enjoy chef-prepared, restaurant-style meals made with love (vegetarian options available). Amelia Place also has powerful memory and ambulatory care options, utilizing various healing modalities.
Vibrant Living with Real Community

Amelia Senior Living is a smaller place, so they take really good care of the residents there. They know everybody and they are more into personalized care. I like that mom's room is cozy, and that it's real light and bright. They have a library, a puzzle room, a sunroom, and a courtyard. So, they have a lot of different amenities there. They also have game nights, Sunday sundaes where they have ice cream sundaes on Sunday evenings for snacks, have rosary every day on Monday through Friday at 3 o'clock, and church services on site. Those were the things that were important to her. The food there is like homemade food. It's really good.

I want to thank everyone at Amelia but especially [name removed] for doing such a phenomenal job. They made our whole experience so easy, and stressful. [name removed] communicated and helped me every step of the way. It is clean, with a warm feel about it. My mom has had nothing but good things to say so far. I give this team a 10 out of 10.

I liked that it was family oriented and that it was a smaller community. They provide three meals and then snacks during the day and night. The lady that gave the tour was very informative and let us know everything about the place. We really liked it a lot. The food was very good. They had a nice fireplace room, two courtyards, and all kinds of places to sit. The halls were nice and wide. It's just a beautiful place.

They have an age-in-place policy there where they don't need to move the person out of their room or to another facility, which is mainly what I'm looking for. I really like that facility. Of the ones that I've seen so far, I think this place is in the top five. The staff were absolutely phenomenal. They were very friendly and very nice. The rooms were smaller than some of the ones that I've seen, but they were still very comfortable. They have several activities, especially ones that my mom would enjoy. They have church services, they have Bible study, and this time of year, they would take them out to tour and see the leaves around one of the local lakes and the community surrounding. They let them make baked goods. They let the residents mix batter of the cake and then they'll take it into the kitchen, and they'll bake it for them. The accommodation they have for the activities was very nice. They have an exercise room where they can do exercises for physical therapy-type things to keep them active if they're able to be active. Overall, I like the place. It was smaller than some of the facilities I've seen, but it's also very comfortable. It's a very nice facility. It's located in a very quiet neighborhood. One side of the facility, if a person had a room there, they're able to watch kids in the neighborhood play in their backyard and do people watching. On the other side of the facility, if the person had a room there, they could look into the woods and see the wildlife and the birds and things of that nature. They have a very nice courtyard in the middle where they could have bird feeders outside their window. For those who have pets, they can take their dog or whatever out into the courtyard to let them do their business. It's a very, very nice facility. It's small, but I think in a smaller facility they would be able to get more individual attention, which is something I like.

Amelia Place Assisted Living Community is very nice. It's a very great facility. It's pleasant, but pricey for what we could afford. One of the things I saw was movie night, and they had all different kinds of movies that people could watch. It was a very comfortable, very pleasant atmosphere. I only met the lady that showed me around. It was very clean, very pleasant, and has a lot of light. The dining area was nice, and the nice thing about it is that it has two levels, and there's a dining area on both levels.
