This place don’t even deserve a one star. Aperion Care of Dolton Illinois staff almost killed my grandmother. My grandmother was fine and clean on Friday, 6/17/2022, when visiting hours was over at 7pm. Visiting hours are from 10am-7pm. I should not have to come in on 6/18/2022 at 10:15am to find my grandmother gasping for air due to medical negligence and her not being suction throughout the night nor during first shift. I also found my grandmother bleeding from her trach and her oxygen mask hanging off of her trach. Due to this my grandmother aspirated on her own mucus and now has double pneumonia which also caused her to be back on the ventilator after being off for 6 weeks. Not only that, but when the paramedics came in, my grandmother O2 level was at a 80, dangerously low, but as soon as they suction her and hit a mucus plug, her O2 level shot up to a 97. They even said she was in respiratory distress and this was neglect! After being at the hospital, I was told my grandmother was severely dehydrated, and constipated, and what had happened to her was neglect on every staff part. I am reporting this company because I am raising awareness and to say think twice. I don’t want anyone else family to feel and go through what my family is currently going through. I should not have found my grandmother fighting for her life because she was not taken care of by staff who vowed and received their license to take care of the people who need.

Before being dropped at Dolton my son was at Aperian Chicago Heights I would visit and took my son on outings, then cov19 hit. I would call to check on my son was assured that everything was find April was the last time I laid eye on my son before cov19. On Aug14 2020 a Friday I was called by Aperian CH and informed that my son was being transferred as I had requested in 2019 to a Skilled Nursing home my son had fallen numerous times at Aperian chicago heights he needed better care. When I finally got to speak to the administrator at Dolton I was told that my son was admitted in a wheelchair. Why I didn’t know and they had no information to give me. Cov19 was still raising hell. On Aug 29 2020 Aperian care Dolton call me to say they were send my son to the hospital that he was lethargic and running a fever. I waited the hospital call me that Saturday evening and told me my son had septic infections they were running test on him he also had bed sores and a urinary track infection and he was dehydrated but if his Covid test came back negative I would be be able to see him Monday I saw my Son my Son for the first time since April he looked like he had a stroke. Dolton was not at fault for his past condition, that are to blame for everything since and that’s because they have no staff and still trying to run a facility that must be over crowded no one returns my calls. I have been waiting on my son social services to return my calls all week I hope isn’t not the case that the 3 nurse what type RN LPN or just CNA have a Conscience and if need be report that they are under staff since no one can really see was going on it not just this place but all nursing home like this one which are for profit not giving a care or caring for the residents is not the employees is the cooperation and the state of Illinois that’s at fault

I gave two stars because the landscaping, online pictures, main entry and 3.6 stars is why I chose Aperion, BUT I should’ve read the review just before mine. My sister was rushed to hospital with sepsis her GI tube pulled out and severely dry and flaky skin. A skilled facility should know how to take care of the minor things especially when the family can’t visit frequently to assist due to COVID restrictions. The hospital was so disturbed they took pictures. I spoke with a Liaison who have many rebuttals/excuses but no apologies, I then called to speak to the same liaison to inform her I’m picking up my sister belongings just for the front desk receptionist to say she’s on lunch I asked for the administrator and was told she was not there. So after leaving a message my sister wasn’t returning guess who called me back 3mins later the administrator who gave some rebuttals possible solutions and asked to be given another chance to make things right, now I could’ve done that but the fact I was lied to and only got a call back after informing them I plan to remove my loved one was the icing on the cake. Don’t be like me and overlook reviews Because sepsis could’ve killed my sister. Don’t be like me read the reviews.

Most nursing facilities are basically the same the give you a song and good dance when you 1st walk in to look over the facility. Short cut around the rooms where your family member will be. They say they have trained nurses and CNA on duty at all times. They assign about 30 or 40 patients to 1 nurse and she might have 2 cna''s working with. But none of the employees have real patient care training and they don''t really care if the patients are taken care of as far as being feed , cleaned or checked on. That recording on the phone about how clean the place is and roomy and how they are passionate is a BIG BIG LIE like all of these places they just want the money. AND THEY DON''T HIRE ENOUGH WORKERS
