Big Oak Rehabilitation Center is typical of the other rehabilitation centers I have personally been in. There are a slight majority of GOOD employees however the BAD ones put you through hell. The 3rd shift is the most problematic one. There are times when all STAFF are either sleeping or have left the premises or are sitting in their cars in the parking lot. They need to be fired immediately and some of them need to have criminal charges placed on them for especially NEGLECT, ABUSE, AND ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF SENIOR CITIZENS. HEATHER is the name of the Administrator. She works very hard to help all. However she is bound in her authority by the OWNER (S). I''M a resident here and I have met and talked much with a man named ABRAHAM who is either one of the owners or the owner''s representative. I have written to President Joe Biden to ask him for funding through a GRANT to bring this place up to being a role model of rehabilitation and nursing home centers. Sincerely, in the name of Jesus Christ

Found on Facebook—- BIG OAK REHABILITATION & HEALTHCARE CENTER Testimonial We have nothing but praise for the staff, all of them at Big Oak Elmer NJ. From Administrators, Nurses, Aides, Environmental Custodial, Dining, PT, OT and Front Desk. Everyone treated mom with the same compassion and care as we witnessed with every resident which we are grateful for and thank God that mom enjoyed every aspect as well and Big Oak was her choice when needing to select a rehab facility. We do want to acknowledge by name a number that were first hand care givers for Mom and just a shout out of appreciation: Desiree, Irv, Justin, Margie, Amy, Litzi, Sarah Ana, Emily, Liz, Angela, Tanisha, Danielle, Sonja, Esmerelda, Jenn, Barry, Kenny and Brian. I know there were others, but these always took time to greet us and we appreciate the love, care and compassion as well as commitment to excellence. We continue to pray for you all. and know God works thru the tender care you provide. Respectfully, Glen H.

Didn’t even catch the administrators name because she was aloof and arrogant during my time there, and never took the time to introduce herself even after I attempted. The administrator of this building uses intimidation tactics to try and gain control of her dwindling staff. She doesn’t care to learn the names of her staff, their titles, or the positions they’re filling. She has no involvement in the hiring process, and is completely unaware of who is in the building. Her attitude is disgusting and the way she interacts with staff members is disturbing. She makes crude and baseless assumptions about staff, and is incapable of holding professional level headed conversations. She has a problem with staff being on their phone, but has no issues with herself walking in the building at 10:45am well after the rest of her management staff - with no morning rounds to be had. She is unaware of how her building is running when she walks in nearly 4 hours after shift change. In today’s ever changing and advancing world, the use of cell phones aides tremendously when communicating between interdisciplinary teams - especially efficient for contacting MDs and NPs. This admins assumptions and foul attitude caused a fantastic nurse to walk out of this facility - no one should tolerate a dictatorship for leadership. What is needed is a team with open communication and trust. The mentality of “nurses eat their young” is being phased out as it’s toxic and does not provide grounds for high morale. I would assume you’d hold yourself to the same standards you hold your employees to. No wonder staffing here is a revolving door. New hires resign during the first days of orientation because of poor leadership skills, double standards, and lack of communication amongst leaders. The DON, Amanda, and ADON, Kat, were nothing but kind during my interactions with them. If you’re looking to place your family here or are looking for employment - please heavily reconsider. This is NOT an inviting environment that harbors growth and positive experiences due to the administrator. It’s really a shame since all other employees seemed kind and welcoming.
