I recently placed my mom at Griswold Rehab Care Center. I would not want her anywhere else. I truly enjoy my job. I like helping families that need to place a loved one even if it is for short stay for PT or if it''s for LTC.

The rooms at Griswold Assisted Living were very, very small. My mom could get her TV, but I would have to pay to have her TV put in. At the other facility, they just did it. She had a 55 inch TV because she had a macular degeneration of the eyes and she had a room for a chair. She had two recliners, she had her night stand that she had at home, and we cleaned all that stuff up and sanitized it. I bought her a new bed and she had a stand in there that had pictures and things on it. Then she had a stand with drawers that the television sat on. There was room. For a while they had to help her get into the bathroom and they had a big lift. I don't remember what they called it, but there's no way they could have done that over at Griswold. The only one I really talked to was the gentleman that answered the phone, I think he's the administrator, and I think he was kind of rude. I drove there and I looked at the place; I wasn't gonna put her some place that I didn't see. It didn't look like there was a very big area for taking the residents outside. They have an area up at the other facility, my mom was in the Alzheimer's, and they have a big area where they're planting flowers and they're gonna be level high with her waist so they don't have to stoop over, and there are sidewalks through there that they could walk around in. I was able to see their dining area and it looked like it was sufficient. It was clean, but they didn't show me the menu. I talked with two of the people that worked there, there was a nurse, and there was an aide that I talked to. They were very nice. I didn't agree with everything they were saying that it was a very nice facility. Talking to them for just a few minutes, you don't learn that much.
