My 90 y.o. mother spent 100 days here and barely got out alive. The phones are a joke. The staff seldom answered. Family''s wishes had to be communicated via email due to poor phones. Staff poured liquids into my mom''s mouth faster than she could tolerate as we watched during a zoom session. Xrays a few hrs. later showed opacities, indicating she has aspirated fluids into her lungs. Poor , substandard care as we watched. She caught covid, survived then we watched her aspirate☹️ in the care of VPA staff. Multiple complaints filed by my family and dialysis for unsafe care to Ombudsman and Adult Protective Services. DON''T put your family through this. My mother survived despite their lack of professionalism. AFTER, informing me and my family that she was unsafe to be transported to dialysis in a non reclining wheelchair , they did exactly that a few days later causing the dialysis team to be stunned at her condition ! Her head nearly in her lap! Horrible communications! Save yourself and your family the misery. Research deeply other options. This is not a good one. I tried having her moved to another facility but the medical director feared for her safely , she was too fragile and complicated. So we stayed. She did survive, barely.

Their nurse practitioner is not in communication with UCSF about removing the bandage from knee replacement surgery after 15 days. Apparently Victorian Post Acute does not care for many knee replacement patients at all The chef has been accommodating to the dietary guidelines from my nutritionist. The food is good. PT and OT tend to be opaque about their scheduling for rehabilitation. The therapists are nice and professional. However, as I said they don’t care for many knee replacement patients apparently.
