I was under La Casa Via’s care for one month and three days and every day I was happy. This place is very clean. The food is good (better than the last facility I was in). The stay has been very comfortable. The doctors and nurses are very good. Everyone is so professional. CNA’s are very patient and helpful. My doctor was very nice. I will be telling all my friends to come to this facility if they need help. My son and daughter-in-law also feel La Casa Via is the best facility they have experienced.

I remember how bad my health was at John Muir Walnut Creek hospital and I was very worried about my recovery. I couldn''t even get out of bed by myself. I was informed that I had a lumbar infection and would need skilled nursing and rehabilitation. When I was transferred to La Casa Via I was scared of needing IV antibiotics for over 30 days. I was very happy with the staff and care I received. Little tasks seemed impossible but now I am able to get out of bed on my own! The PT and OT were excellent. I have learned a lot and prepared to go home. I have made many friends at La Casa Via and if I ever need help again I will be returning!!!!

My friend is there know and the place is a dump! Equipment/Furniture is old and falling apart. Place is far from clean. Bathrooms are disgusting. You’re lucky if there’s soap or towels dry your hands. Their idea of safety is throwing mats on the floor to keep a patient from falling out of bed no rails to hold them in the bed. Care is limited and wait time to get anything done is unacceptable. Had to wait an hour and half just to have someone help transition her from wheelchair to bed. I had to go out and ask 4 times for someone to help. If she has to use the restroom they say just go I. Your diaper and CMA will clean you. Food is awful. Believe they are way understaffed and whenever you ask a question nobody knows…. They say they will find out but never do. No one can answer basic questions like how long has she been setting in the wheelchair? It’s I just got here, I ask do you not keep records or do change over so your up on the patients???? My friend has dementia and had surgery for a broken femur and was placed there for PT. Lack of help and the conditions are causing her more stress and frustration.. I’m told PT is supposed to be really good but time will tell.

The food is very good, much improved since last December. The staff continues to be caring, response good 70% of time, lower if emergency help needed on floor. Update after a few more days, that’s the plan😊
