My father has been recovering from multiple issues since the middle of December starting with a broken hip then getting pneumonia then getting Covid pneumonia. He has been at South Dennis healthcare and I couldn’t be more pleased with his recovery. They have been so attentive patient kind. The staff is so friendly and informative they keep me updated on his progress when I wasn’t able to go in because I had Covid myself. The administration is very helpful and very much a part of the team hands-on. I would recommend this place highly for anyone that has a loved one that needs rehab or even long-term care.

Kathy Lavelle - My brother is disabled and throughout his life after a fall or surgery he has required time in a rehab facility, most recently for 10 weeks at South Dennis Healthcare. His first comment when I spoke with him was "These people really care, and the food is good as well". He said the staff was nothing but professional, respectful, kind, and understanding. His social worker Justin, nurses, aides, and therapists in the Murphy Unit took care of his many needs and communicated with our family throughout his stay. The front desk was extremely helpful as we entered the facility, always checking temp, wearing face mask and shield to protect against Covid-19. As we gather to give thanks this Thanksgiving, I personally want to thank everyone at South Dennis Healthcare.

This was the worst experience of my life. This is incompetence at its peak. There is no one in charge. Staffing is mainly agency. I truly doubt that all the RN’s are licensed. The aides-if they chose to answer the call light were indifferent. The food was AWFUL. Terribly salty. The worst offender was their so called social worker. Useless. The only saving grace was the therapy department-and a few of the aides.

Absolutely the worst nursing home I have ever come across. All the staff are agency staff and nobody knows what is going on. My friend is a paraplegic and has been there for four days now. The first day I went to visit her they were three hours late giving her the medication she needs. She was shaking like a leaf and in great distress. When I questioned the nurse in charge of giving out medications why my friend hadn''t been given her medication he said he''d "been distracted" and had forgotten! She has been there for over four days and still has no way to contact the staff if she has an emergency or needs help. She cannot press the regular buttons and they have been promising to get her something that they have in stock that she can easily press for help. But after four days she still has nothing and cannot call for help. They say someone checks on the patients every half hour or so, but we saw nobody in the hour and a half I was visiting and the following day I visited I found her in a wheelchair slumped over the side. She does not have the body strength to hold herself up and they left her with no support. She had been like that for 20 minutes. There was nobody around to help - the nursing station was empty. I would not wish this place on my worst enemy and feel so sorry for anyone who has to stay in this place. We are working hard to get my friend out of there!

BEWARE...BECAREFUL with South Dennis Healthcare (late Eagle Pond owned by Next Step Health Care) Go to somewhere else but do not leave you loved one here. Residents are constantly being ABUSED and NEGLECTED, in special at the HEWINS and SCARGO floors. The Nursing Director and Administrator are negligent and careless. Some of the CNA''s are very, very, very lazy and full of "trash attitude". They hide from the reaidents whi needa attention. They don''t really care and treat the residents with no compassion, no respect and there''s no standards or professionalism whatsoever. They hit them, they course them and leave them in feces/soaked wet for the whole shift. Some of the residents are left starving in special those residents that need to be fed. Call lights are answered 30, 40, 50 minutes later when residents call for help. What about if some of them went to a cardiac arrest? What about if some of them the fall? This place is disgraceful and building is falling apart. Mold and dirty everywhere as well leakage and broken toilets in some of their bathroom. If you don''t love your mother or father leave them here.
