The possibility of a blood clot is serious, and requires swift care, for any age - but for someone over 80 with a history of heart disease and recent confinement to bed/wheelchair, the risks increase. This is why I am so upset at the (non) treatment that our family member received last week. New leg pain suggested the possibility of a blood clot - enough possibility that the doctor ordered a scan. The day of the appointment arrived and our family traveled - with great stress, as one is wheelchair bound and the other is weakened - to the hospital. Patient was wheeled back to scan room and told to "hop up" on table. Patient clearly stated that this was not possible due do weakness in legs, and asked for help. The medical "professional" refused to provide help, asking the non-wheelchair bound spouse to provide assistance - which is clearly impossible given their sizes and conditions. Medical "professional" did not try to find other medical staff to help patient get set for the procedure, and walked off. Family left, having been denied doctor recommended diagnostic treatment by the (non)actions of this one staff member. This is completely unacceptable. Mimbres Memorial had better hope against hope that this denial of care does not result in a stroke that might have been prevented if one staff member had deigned to do his job.

I trust this hospital with my primary care, podiatry, my child pediatric need, labs, imaging and emergency services. I have never had the need for inpatient care. NP Sosa Ssnchez, NP Thornsberry, DPM Edwards, MD Cashin, MD Homsi and MD Kinkel have always provided me exceptional care. The nurses and other professionals have been kind and courteous.

You can''t trust the doctors here. I just went for the first time and was misdiagnosed. Luckily for me it wasn''t a life or death situation. Unfortunately for my neighbor, his situation was far more critical and the misdiagnosis he received ended up killing him. They sent him home after completely missing his sepsis. If you can, go to a hospital in Las Cruces instead.
