Ormond Manor was very nice, very clean, and very updated. The staff was great. It's a smaller community. They only take 24 residents, and they didn't have a lot of amenities. They had an open TV room and an open activity room. They had a lanai and an outdoor for people to go outside, and it was all gated and locked. In that sense, it was wonderful. It's just there wasn't a lot of movement. The rooms were down the sides of the hallway and then it was a big open concept. It wasn't like they could roam around once they went outside or whatever. It wasn't as wide open as the other places. The dining was very nice and that was part of the open concept. The rooms were very nice.

My tour at Ormond Manor was wonderful. I had a great tour. I like it. I was very happy with it, and I'm happy with all the people that I met. I like how bright it was in there. They had light flooring, the walls were light-colored, and I like the layout of the place. The staff who assisted me was very nice. They were all nice, every single one of them. It's very informative and just all-around nice. I was there at lunchtime, and it looked good what they were eating. They have craft classes there, which I like. They have like a game for them to play, it was called cornhole, and I like that, too. They have gardening there. The rooms are a good size, and they were nice.
Read moreWe had a very good tour experience with Ormond Manor. The staff were all very polite and helpful. I have nothing bad at all to say about them, we just didn't get that "feeling" when we walked in. I wanted to walk in and know right off the bat that it was the one.
I tell others that this is a good community I would recommend the community to others. The staff are friendly, accommodating, communicative to the family about their loved one. They were good at doing video calls during the respite stay of our loved one as well.

My mother lives here. We had visited other communities but this one stood out in a number of ways. First, we did not leave our tours thinking that Ormond Manor would be "adequate," but with a feeling that Mom would feel happy and secure living here. A big part of this was observing how the staff interacted with residents - with care and compassion, with understanding of how to engage with a person with dementia. Another reason for this sense of confidence was that the facility itself is laid out thoughtfully, with very spacious but comfortable and home-like suites and safe, large private bathrooms. Probably owing in part to the relatively small number of residents, the atmosphere was very calm, quiet, and low-key. The access residents have at all times to staff given the layout (a central living area/staff station/dining area surrounded by the suites) was also a big plus. There is a huge outdoor patio area with beautiful trees in view, and another climate controlled patio area. The food is excellent. The meals are delicious and even look extremely appetizing, and you can tell that a great deal of thought and care goes into their planning, nutrition, and presentation. My mother very much enjoys the activities, including bingo, arts and crafts, even manicures/pedicures. Occasionally she will be enjoying a coffee and conversation with just one or two other residents and at other times, the entire group gets together for an activity. The communication with staff is excellent. They are always knowledgable, helpful, and accessible. They are on top of everything and this makes such a difference in planning outings or doctor visits, or arranging for special care for Mom involving outside caregivers. One thing I noticed about both the residents and staff: There are so many SMILES. If you've evaluated a number of communities, you know that this is not always the case and it's something that stands out.

My mother required Memory Care for dementia and moved to Ormond Manor. We had checked out many other facilities but this was by far the best. The staff is wonderful, skilled, and caring. The suites and their private bathrooms are spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable. The layout is very good for a person with dementia, with the suites surrounding the center area divided into living/TV room, staff station, and dining. The outdoor areas are lovely and spacious as well. The lower population is also great, and contributes to a very calming, low-key atmosphere that you sense would engender a feeling of security. But most important is the caring and engaged staff. My mother transitioned here with no problems whatsoever and was eager to participate in activities from day one. I visited this week and she was outdoors at a table having coffee with another resident. These are the kinds of things we love to see with our loved ones when this type of care is needed - engagement, enjoyment, a state of relaxation and comfort and surrounded by a staff that "gets it" and has the instincts for helping your loved one feel happy and safe.
