Since no one is responding to my email, I hope my review will get your attention. Bethany Unit, Our Lady of Consolation, do better. This is my email. To whom this may reach, I would like to inform you about the displeasure I have had with your unit. My grandfather, (do not want to add name) , was placed in this rehabilitation center in February of 2024. He was an extremely high risk patient. On February 8th, he was found dead by me in his room. By the time I had entered his room his lips were already blue and he was unresponsive. I knew he had been gone for a while. Why was I the one who found him? How long had he been dead for? Was anyone even checking on him? When I had first came in that day, I greeted the front desk first and they rudely asked what I had needed, and I had expressed I just wanted an update on my grandfather. A lady then led me to his room, did not even enter the room with me, and left. I then found him. After I had screamed saying something is wrong everyone finally rushed into the room. I was then treated very kindly by staff, however I know that is just because they know they messed up. How could you leave a high risk patient gone for that long? I am a 20 year old girl, I should not have to be left with these questions and with that image of my grandfathers lifeless body on that hospital bed. Why do I have to live with these images I can’t seem to erase because no one on your staff checked on him? That is my last memory of him now, and these are questions I may never get a response to. Please, give me an answer. Please, do not let this happen to another person. Please, do not leave a high risk patient alone for that long. I pray I will find my peace. When I had spoken to the police officer who had come to report his death, he was in disbelief when I had told him I had been the one to find him. That was the most validation I had received that day. But still, I am left with so many questions. His time of death was not what was reported, he was long gone before then. I know this information because I had seen it with my own eyes. Do better, don’t ruin another life. And now I ask you again, How long was he dead for before I came? When was the last time a staff member checked on him?

Our lady of consolation is one of the worst places you could put your family in. If your family is not on a rehab unit(deporres or Guadalupe) they will not get the care they need. This past Saturday the nurses on Aquanis was trying to put a IV in a resident in the day room it took 3 of them they had to call the nurse from Guadalupe to do it. Some aides & nurses have the worst attitude and since they been there long management doesn’t want to get rid of them so they sweep it under the rug. The administration don’t care about anything going on unless you threaten to call stat. I overheard one of the aides saying that theres someone in management sleeping with each other. They don’t clean the dishes they rinse them & then let the residents eat & drink off it that’s why people are getting sick. Their so short staff residents are only getting changed once a shift unless their fully alert. The aides talk to residents like they don’t have a mind of their own or like they’re a child. Be careful when you put your family in this facility. If you’re not going to come everyday to make sure your family member is taken care of don’t put them in here unless you just don’t care. If they don’t care about the staff why would you think they’d care about your loved one.

I know when your loved one is in a nursing home you tend to be very critical of the care they receive. So reviews will always be mixed. We have had experience with 2 facilities in the past so we speak with knowledge. My aunt is in the dementia unit here and our experience has been absolutely wonderful! From The kindness and caring of the staff that deals with her to the front desk , her care is top notch and loving . The CNAs RNs LPNs Recreation director all are fantastic! The food could use a little improvement but what really counts is the love my aunt receives on a daily basis
