My non-verbal and immobile father was sent here after his hospital stay for sub-acute rehab and my mother and I FOUGHT HARD to get him out as soon as we saw the place. He was only here for 5 hours and within that time it was a nightmare. First off, the place is a DUMP. There were pipes in room, bugs and dirt throughout the room, mold and water damage in the ceiling, the windows had no screens (literally bugs and birds could fly in) and the baseboards were broken. The room was also EXTREMELY hot and the beds had no rails for security. Aside from the terrible room, I will say the nurses were kind. Our frustration was not personal towards them, but there was just no way we felt comfortable leaving my dad in those conditions. During his time there he was not provided with his medication and they didn''t want to change his soiled linen (although they did after my mother insisted). Also, there''s no security. I walked in the door after hours with the lights off and no one at the front desk. We were eventually able to send my father back to the hospital where they found him dehydrated, with high blood pressure, low blood sugar, heart racing, pneumonia and 3 blood clots. I don''t even want to think of what would have happened if we left my dad at Ahva. DO NOT send your loved one here. I do not recommend this place even if it was a last resort.

My mother was in here for about a week and in that short time she was there i saw a lot of upsetting things. Starting with that fact that I had to keep reminding them about my mother''s medications. The staff is unaware of their patients medication and fail to look at their file with the correct information. My mother had to remind them about her medicine because she began to feel weak. She also had to remind them about feeding her and on top of that they failed to give her physical therapy which was supposed to done every day. They were very forgetful so much to the point that there was a patient who was left at the table for what seemed a really long time and it seemed to happen on multiple occasions. Another upsetting thing is that this place is extremely dirty and smelled of urine. It is definitely not cleaned on a regular basis. There are many hazards at this place and have they inappropriate equipment for their patients. I refuse to ever bring my mother back this place. They should be shut down.

This place is gross. I took my family member out of there before the end of the third day. He went in for PT and unfortunately my lack of knowledge I went along with where the hospital social worker recommended. HUGE mistake. It is unsanitary and words cannot describe the condition of the rooms, furniture, food etc..the only consolation was the staff was kind when I was there. I feel so sorry for all the elderly people stuck in here. I would not take a stray animal there for shelter.
