I worked a Saturday on the "wheel chair Dementia unit". I was told to report to Ro@@@ the staff CNA whom started pointing and naming things about the residents. I asked for an assignment sheet so I could note on. She pulled out a sheet with a list of all the residents on the floor and started highlighting names of those needing 2 people assist and or hoyer. I never was never given an actual assignment of any resident I would be taking care of alone. I asked R@@@@ several times if I could assist but felt resistance, as if she felt uncomfortable around me. I''m new to the facility as an agency employee, so I wasn''t familiar with any of the residents, which I made known. I feel like they lack proper orientation or willingness to help agency employees. She only asked for my assistance with a few residents. Which I felt was very strange given the fact the some were still in night clothes long after lunch and had not been changed(soiled). I even witnessed R@@@@ using the hoyer lift alone several times which is not allowed for safety reasons. I was put on the DNR list (do not return) for "not finishing my assiged duties and talking on my phone."I think its all a joke, no wonder they can''t keep permanent staff. Not sure what they would do with out Agency helping out. The receptionist are not warm or welcoming. The RN supervisors are there to bark orders, never helping even when short staffed. LPN''s act as if they are not knowledgeable about the residents care, they are not helpful, they hide behind the medicine carts. This place has Poor management, lack of empathy and compassion. Everyone should be accountable for patient care/needs. BLM!! 🙏🏾🤜🏿🤜🏾🤜🏽CNA lives matter!! Focus and address the inefficient healthcare and staffing shortage.

I have given QPRC a rating of "1" NOT because of their independent living apartments which are well-managed but because of the TREMENDOUS problems with infection control in their Skilled Nursing Facility, during the COVID-19 pandemic. QPRC DOES NOT enforce mask-wearing among its Skilled Nursing employees. They may "talk the talk," but I can assure you, for the past 3 months, I''ve witnessed MULTIPLE nursing staff with either no mask on the nose or no mask whatsoever on the face. When I asked these CNAs, LPNs, and RNs why they were not wearing masks on their noses or why they were not wearing a mask at all, I heard many excuses, such as QPRC had not supplied them with a mask that fit their facial shape or that they had determined that their nosepiece was "uncomfortable" and had therefore, removed it. The bottom line is that these direct care staff persons continued to care for my family member without properly wearing PPE on their noses and mouths. Consequently, despite complaints to a Nursing Director and Administrator, which were ignored, my elderly family member contracted COVID in QPRC''s Skilled Nursing facility. Following this experience, my suggestion is this: If your elderly family member should suddenly require Skilled Nursing or Personal Care, DO NOT HESITATE to MOVE your loved one to ANOTHER Skilled Nursing Facility with an excellent reputation in the medical community. DO NOT make the mistake of assuming that just because QPRC''s independent living facilities are high quality, their Skilled Nursing and Personal Care facilities are, too. For your loved one''s sake, DO NOT place them into QPRC''s Skilled Nursing or Personal Care home, where not all staff are vaccinated and many nursing staff simply refuse to wear PPE in the manner in which it was intended.
