AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! They simply took my dad in , and loaded him full of sedative medication..to the point he went completely out of his mind and almost into a coma. Not only did they do this one, but TWICE! if you want your loved ones to be over medicated send them here, if not, go elsewhere!

I was less than impressed with the professionalism and care my father received while at The Laurels of Gahanna. While there were a couple WONDERFUL aids (four in particular...I wish I could remember their names), the experience as a whole was a mess. We received no introduction or tour when we moved in (in fact, the nurse wasn''t even told we were arriving and the room/staff were not properly prepared), the weekend care staff on several occasions were unprofessional and did not give my father dignified care, the facility overall is not well maintained and smelled awful, and several of the front staff and management interactions were callous and also unprofessional. When it was time to move on, we were more than thrilled with the opportunity to relocate to another facility that took more pride in the quality of its facility, the kindness of its staff, and the thoughtful care of its residents.

This place is a filthy dump. Patient care is no better. Took my husband there through hospice for a 5 day respite stay at 5pm. By 9:30 the next day arrangements had been made to get him out of The Laurels as fast as possible. Bed was broken, FILTHY is a compliment to the status of his room and the facility in general. The staff was completely incompetent. They lied to my face twice in very short period of time. Had no clue how to deal with a person who is non verbal. I had to feed, change and provide care to my husband myself because the staff could not be not bothered. Nurses were extremely rude and uncooperative. I cannot say enough about how bad this place is., a rating of one star is far to good....RUN!!!

I wouldn''t put my dog here. Cold food. Slow response from nursing and aides, old smelly bedding, old beds that don''t work, filthy housekeeping, MOP something sometime!! mom NEVER got a bath. I took care of her picture wound and I bathed her in bathroom sink. Didn''t have her oxygen set up on arrival. No one can speak understandably .. makes communication difficult for elderly patients. Rehab didn''t happen for days and then it was for 15 minutes ONE time. We pulled my mom out. Disgusting what elder care has become. Good riddance Laurals.
