My Loved one lived there for a year recently. The facility itself could be great, has a lovely courtyard, but it's just not run well. Tho it's advertised as fine dining type meals, the food is not fresh with very high preservative/sodium levels. The activities listed as being available, really aren't due to shortage of staff. There is a "bistro" but it's only a general gathering place - there is no coffee - there's a machine but it's been broken for years. Most of the staff there are caring people but, again, I think the issues are with management. It's quite expensive and costs for the added 'care charge' for Assisted Living or Memory Care, are based on a point system that is difficult to understand. Once moved in, new points are added and price increases happen often. Weekly housekeeping option offered rarely is provided. There is Memory Care, but it's quite depressing. My advice is to keep looking - there are great places, even in Coppell, but I would pass on this one for now until they improve management.

My loved one moved from assisted living at a different facility to memory care here at River Oaks. As a fairly independent resident without a lot of care needs, there are a lot more limitations in memory care than he's used to. And they're not quite up to giving someone like that care that's targeted towards someone like him. The other memory care residents aren't cognitively able to interact with him very much, so it's been hard. But he's a compulsive walker and is able to safely walk the halls in the memory care unit. And the people there are very nice.

Love the activities. Love the community. Warm hearts are here.
Good experience with care. Good food. Really pleased with staff.
