I went to Rose's Terrace. I didn't have an appointment, but they were nice enough to show me the place. It's like a group home, so there were no more than eight people there. I didn't like it in the sense that it looked crowded, and the rooms were small. There was one private room, and I saw the shared ones, too. They were very small. They had a twin bed and a small dresser, and that's it. The staff was nice. She said the owner just bought that place, so there were going to be renovations. She showed me the backyard, which needed to be fixed. The colors inside were dark. With regard to activities, I saw puzzles here and there in the area. There's a common living room for everybody. They had activities, but I didn't see anything going on at that point. However, they were doing the best they can.

My tour at Rose's Terrace was very good. They had a lot of outside space and stuff that they could do. I met the owner or director. The atmosphere of the facility was clean and nice. The person we were supposed to talk to wasn't there that day. They have activities where they can join in and watch TV, and they do arts and crafts. It was a very nice facility.

I had an in-person tour of Rose's Terrace. The lady was very professional. The place was very clean. The people that were standing there were more like in assisted living. They could walk and eat by themselves. They could sit down and watch TV. If my mom had been at that stage, that place would be perfect for her. If they are bedridden, they have somebody that is constantly checking, changing, feeding, and bathing them. They're doing everything that they need to do for the patient. They looked clean and didn't smell. They feed them. They were very caring from the way they talked to them. There was one nurse talking to one of the ladies in bed, and I heard the tone of voice. He was not screaming; it was comfortable for the patient. I really liked that place.

Rose's Terrace is small. They have some private rooms and some shared rooms. It used to be a house, but it was totally converted. The gentleman and his wife run it. He's a nurse, so he made everything very accessible for wheelchairs. They did a really good job converting this home into a care home. With the residents that my mother saw, she thought she wouldn't have that many to interact with. My mother is 80, but they seemed much older and less interactive. They didn't have any availability at the moment. There's a couple of rooms that have their own bathroom, a couple of rooms that have a shared bathroom, and there are a couple of rooms that they share the room. They have a large open area. They have TVs and a dining area. It's not a separate dining hall; it's just like what the dining room used to be. They have fewer amenities, but I think this is geared more towards people who need a lot more care.

We went to Rose's Terrace. The staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable, they answered every question that we had, and they seemed very personable. They told us how the residents were fed. We didn't see a menu, but we saw the kitchen. They told us that the meals are prepared each day from scratch, and they are approved by a dietitian, which I think is a requirement in the state of Florida as well. We went just after lunch, but I think someone was having cake or whatever and needed to eat, and there was someone actually sitting at the table helping him eat. The layout was really good for wheelchair access. The doorways and the hallways were wide, renovated for nursing care, clean, and wide open. The layout was very good.
