If you have a lucid independent family member. Someone thar lets say refuses to take medication and not eat or remain in a diaper 8 hours or be dressed then left for 6 hours in bed or a wheelchair doing absolutely nothing and complain about it this is not the place for you. Then the retaliation games begin. You get totally ignored after being told more than once they were coming. Items in my room are missing My clothes are missing and the have no answer. That''s there answer no answer. There is always accountability. And when then don''t like you they single handly document nonsense and tell you family. Yes come one come all I can''t wait When you have visitors they are are so polite and pleasant but smartness is Transparency. Several staff members have lied on me and said I wouldn''t take my medication. So I began having staff sign a makeshift piece of paper when I didi. This evening one staff member told me she signed hers and to say please . Needless to say where thar went. They have lied and told me daughter I have hit staff members thrown things at staff members cussed at staff members. I''m I know what I have done I tolerate no nonsense from no one and if you dislike me and I haven''t done anything to you oh well grow up get over it. Wouldn''t recommend this place to a dead dog. They will know you need help indicated by your call button and leave you for 2 and 3 hours !!!!

They left my mother in bed for days. She developed fluid in her arms, legs and lungs from not moving at all. Every time I called them, they transferred me to the wrong room, said she had family visiting at the time (she didn’t) and that she was up at an activity (she wasn’t). She went into heart failure and called me because her nurse wouldn’t call an ambulance and saying they had to check with the supervisor. I called an ambulance. When the ambulance got there, staff told them patient is refusing care even though I was on speaker phone and nobody came in the room. Awful awful, there’s no way these positive reviews are real. They must require you to post a review when working there. Food is terrible, staff doesn’t care and my mother had bruises all over her body.

1- Rooms are adequate but none of the beds have railings. My mother is 88 years old and a fall risk, and they did not approved bed railings! 2- While the menu selection is decent, the food is not edible because it is always cold (not lukewarm) downright cold. You could understand if it became cold en route from downstairs to upstairs, but the food is freezing!! 3- Staffing ratio is terrible. One nurse for an entire section with over 50-60 patients. The aides are either busy with breakfast , lunch, or dinner or taking 45 minute break., so they do not tend to the patients regularly to change them, bathe them, walk them (if they can walk) to the bathroom, etc. 4- They do not allow patients to get up from their beds even if they can walk a little because they do not want them to fall and get in trouble, which is understandable, but they will leave them in their beds all morning or for hours soiled. 4- My mother has been there for over three weeks and has seen the doctor 1x. 5- They arrange for my mother to go to an external doctor''s appointment by ambulette, but they never arranged for the ambulette and ended up calling Uber which my mother had to struggle to get into because of the wheelchair. Lo and behold only to get to the appointment to find out it had been canceled. 6- If your loved one has a health plan, they will call you to take them out of the health plan and switch them to a medicaid Medicare plan under the pretense their normal health plan will deny services.

This place is horrible. my first visit to this place was not good as soon as i stepped out the smell was not pleasant to me. My sister was placed there at the dementia unit as time passes there something always wrong with my sister. 1st my sister had a bump at the back of her head sad to say no one knew how she got it, then second time again my sister had a bruise on her face and again no one knew. so to ask those workers how she got that bruise and the reply was that they asked my sister if her bruise hurt. HOW CAN YOU ASK HER THAT QUESTION WHEN SHE DOESN''T TALK? when it came to eating her food would be left there. why didn''t she eat her food again there answer was we can''t force her to eat. there was times that my sisters face was dirty from eating no one cleaned her WHAT IN THE WORLD IS HAPPING HERE. so that meant she goes with out eating. my sister use to walk when she was put there. my sister doesn''t walk at all now always in a wheel chair. no physical therapy at all. I can continue with more that has happen to my sister in that facility, NO ONE SHOULD BE TREATED LIKE THAT. this is my sister and the time she has left in this world my family and I want the best. she is our star a beloved sister aunt and sister-in-law. no one should be treated the way i have seen treatment. to be placed here is the end of the witz. CALVARY is when you are at the end of your witz and i am most sure they don''t neglect the patience. Glad that my sister is no longer there. I thank my family my kids and friends for all the prayers and GOD 1st for seeing our pain and my sisters pain. Thank you father for all you do and your blessings. AMEN. had to give it a one star because if i didn''t give it a star i couldn''t'' post. last but not least. her hair not comb my sister paid to have her hair done. this is just wrong. 4.0 rating hummmm not in the DEMENTIA unit

If I could I would give this place 0 stars, but google does not make the "Post" button active if you don''t choose a star! My dad, who has dementia, was admitted in this place in the late afternoon of Feb 13, 2024 (straight from the hospital where he was monitored for a week for dementia behavior). First, the ambulance team and my dad in the strecher and us (family members) waited in the hallway of my father''s room for about 15 minutes because the room name tag listed someone else''s name (not my father''s name), so the ambulance team had to wait until the nurse confirmed that we were in the correct room - she also replaced the existing name tag of the room with my dad''s name tag. The whole memory care floor (5th floor) smelled urine, his room was filthy and smelled disgusting, his bed frame was broken, the window shade was broken, the heating unit panel was broken. To their credit, the maintenance came and repaired the bed frame, but for the broken window shade and the broken heating unit panel the maintenance said that we had to tell the nurse so that she can request repairs. The nurse came to my dad''s room and took my dad''s vitals. I asked the nurse what can be done to get rid of the smell? Surprisingly, her answer was "bring a lot of air fresheners". Then the nurse manager and someone else came together and assessed my dad. I asked if they had his dementia med. The nurse manager said they don''t but they will get the doctor to order it. I offered to bring my dad''s med if they did not have it. The nurse manager said they will let me know. I told them I would be leaving soon so that should call me to let me know. No one called me, so I assumed they were all set with my dad''s med. I left the place around 8pm and called them around 10pm to ask how my dad was. They said he was doing fine and he was hanging out around the nursing station area. I asked if he was given his med, they said "yes". The next morning, Wed, Feb 14, 2024 I called them to ask about my dad. The nurse manager said good that I called because they were about to call me because my dad had been behaving aggressively with the nurses and residents so they were calling the ambulance to take him to the hospital for evaluation (note: he came from the hospital the night before). I asked if he was he given his dementia med. She said yes. But, when I asked about the name of the med and the dose, she put me on hold and someone else picked up and asked me to hold as she was having a computer issue. After a while she picked up and said the IT had to handle the issue and said she would call me back as soon as the computer was up and running. She never called me back! I kept calling the nurses station (5 South) but no one picked up. My dad was sent to Montefiore hospital ER where they found out that my dad was not given the dementia med and the med was not listed in the list of medications they gave to the ambulance. He is still in the Montefiore hospital waiting to be placed at a facility that hopefully can take better care of him than Schervier.
