As the Owner of Comfort Keepers here in Middle TN, we have helped in the IL, AL and Memory Care, and I have always been impressed with how genuine the staff is, and can tell they truly care. It''s a beautiful campus to walk and they do a great job with programing for their residents.

I have worked for Somerfield for 10 years and we have disgruntled former employees, just like everywhere else. It is a phenomenal place to work and I cannot imagine working anywhere else. Somerfield holds their employees to a higher standard and when you cannot meet those expectations, you have only yourself to blame. Rotten attitudes have no place at Somerfied. Most of the employees here are happy, warm, and friendly, and are happy to go the extra mile for the residents they care for. The pictures in the review only show the employee should have done their job and fixed it instead of taking pictures of the work they had not done. It is everyone''s job here to make sure every resident is cared for properly. Most of us take pride in our work and are diligent in our work. However, there are former employees out there that do not take pride in their work and have no respect for anyone much less authority. Often it is the employee that gets fired for not doing their job or having such a rotten attitude as to affect the rest of the staff, residents and family, that lash out on websites and social media.

I moved my mom to the Heritage 2 years ago. The independent living apartments are fine as well as the services offered but not extraordinary for the amount of money this costs. However, the reason we chose this place was for the continuum of care up to skilled nursing. We had to move my mom to the assisted living 10 days ago because of her dementia increasing. We were told she would have a phone landline since she has trouble using a cell phone. She has yet to get a working land line and no one seems the least concerned. We were told they would prompt her for activities that she has trouble remembering but then told only activities that were at the assisted living section. We were told she couldn''t have her hair dryer or curling iron but there was hairdressing available that she could get weekly. Again, not available unless she walks outside over to the independent living side. No one will help her find her way over there nor will they help her remember her appointment times. So we basically moved her over there for two extra meals and medicine administration. This is a joke! I''m back to doing all of the reminders when I can get her to answer her cell phone. I should have left her in independent and hired helpers for her. The nurses and workers on the floor are super kind but everyone above them have been pretty dismissal to my concerns. I will not be recommending the Heritage to any of my friends who have aging parents in this area! Edit- while the transition from independent living to assisted living was rough, my mom is well taken care of in the Assisted Living section of the Heritage and I am thankful that I moved her where she can be more closely monitored and cared for.
