We really like The Retreat at Loganville. The facility was very clean and fresh-looking. The people who gave us the tour were very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. They gave us a complete tour of the whole facility that my mother-in-law would be involved with. The menu looked good. They had people from outside the facility who were leading some music. In another area they had their members doing music, putting puzzles together, and doing all sorts of stuff. We only looked at the smallest room, which was what we had requested. It was small, but it was fine. But all of their common areas were good sizes.

I liked everything about The Retreat at Loganville. We did not have a meal there, but it was offered. We just did a quick tour. I was kind of familiar with that company because my mother had been in one that was very similar. So I didn't go to all of the common areas. I just went to the conference room and the visiting area and we saw a few rooms. They showed us one that was like your little basic studio-looking apartment. Everyone was very nice and very helpful. It was a pretty facility. The building was just a little older. It wasn't that there was anything wrong with it. It just wasn't quite as updated as some other facilities that same.

The Retreat at Loganville was extraordinarily clean and it seemed to be well run. It seemed like a very, very friendly place. They would prepare the meals, take care of the laundry, they would make sure the residents would take the right pills at the right times, and would assist with showers. The staff was very professional, very knowledgeable, and was able to give me pricing and some thoughts on future care, as well. They did a really good job assisting me and walking me through the facility.

When I walked into The Retreat at Loganville, the staff was not that friendly. Nobody said hello. I had to approach them first. Their uniforms were unkempt and they were just standing there talking about their business. When I sat down with the director, we talked about my mom's dog. In the other place, they love having animals and they welcomed them. At The Retreat at Loganville, they said, "We can try to accommodate that." I don't want my mom to be somewhere where they can only accommodate that, I wanted her to be somewhere where they wanted her for everything she comes with. So, I was not impressed. The facility looked more hospital-ish and I knew that wasn't going to be the place for mom. The room was clean and nice though. I was probably only there for 15, 20 minutes. I just didn't get a vibe there at all and they do not have a consistent staff. They use outside temp service for some of their staff and I did not want that.
Read moreGreat experience, I would recommend the place. We picked this community for our loved one , because of the price, friendliness, cleanses, and they were able to answer all my questions.

I toured The Retreat at Loganville. It was nice that I got to see both the living quarters with the cottages and the little cabins. They were both nice. We had a tour in a golf cart. It was an awesome place. We saw a smaller one, I forgot what they call it, but it was a 1-bedroom with two bathrooms, a living room, and a laundry room. It was a small place. But the other one was a big 2-bedrooms, two bathrooms, with a living room, kitchen, and laundry room. It was a larger space, and I think it is more reasonable and better. But they were both very nice, very nice, well-made, and well-maintained. The rooms have a refrigerator, washer, dryer, microwave, everything. There's also access to a dining room where they have different functions and events throughout the week. They also offer transportation for events that they do throughout the week that seniors can be involved in. The staff was awesome. She had a wonderful, sweet personality. She was very accommodating and very knowledgeable. They invited me to come back and take part in meals.
