My friend is in Holiday Sugar Valley Estates. I have several friends there. I come in once a week, so I get to see how they interact with everybody frequently. They are always happy, caring, and supportive. They really care about each person. They try to do what's best for the residents. The residents get to meet with the chef monthly, so that they can have a say in their meals and their dietary needs. They provide lots of enriching and fun activities for them. She loves it there. It's newly remodeled, clean, and very neutral colored. They have a van that takes them places. They have the three meals a day, salon services, a library, and an activity room. They're all living in rooms that are within a big building. Nobody's checking in on them. Nobody's full on taking care of them, but they can pay for meals. They have a meal plan there. The people there are really nice and they truly care about the people living there. The facility is newer, nice, safe, and clean. They have activities in-house and then they also have activities where they take a van and take them places like out to eat. There's a lot of really good extracurricular activities there.

My mother-in-law is in Holiday Sugar Valley Estates and I go over there every day to work with her. She's been there for five years now. The staff is great and the food is really good and has a lot of good variety. The place is cheerful and bright. They clean the rooms once a week and they always do an awesome job at that. They remodeled it recently, and it's very modern looking, very nice, and clean. It's a great place all around. All the features are positive. When you walk in, the staff always greet you. They're very friendly. If you ask them a question, they always know the answer and if they don't, they get back with you in a very timely manner. They have a lot of variety of activities that interest a lot of different people.

However, it's a nice facility. It's clean, neat, and freshly painted. I was there at lunchtime, so I had lunch. The food was adequate. The outdoors was beautiful. Their yard and gardens were beautiful. I was looking for a studio, and they have several different designs. The studio would've been fine for me. The staff was excellent. They have a nice van.

I've enjoyed my time at Holiday Sugar Valley Estates. The staff are kind and caring. The residents are friendly. For an independent senior living community, this is an ideal place. Overall, I would recommend the community to others.

Don't let the pictures you see online deceive you. Things have changed drastically in the last year, and I don't have anything good to say about Sugar Valley Estates. They've been without a chef, a drivers, a bus - all kinds of things we're paying for. Activities are only once a month now, with no outings anymore. They used to deliver meals to the room when you were sick, but no longer. Recently there was a fire in a dirty microwave, and they did not handle the emergency situation well. The residents were scared and unsure what was going on and what to do. They were given no direction whatsoever. There have been significant price increases. We are not happy at all, and I would not recommend them to other families. I would say turn and run the other way.
