Sun Valley looked to be kept clean. The people I talked to seemed to care about their residents. They knew about who was where, and what was going on. They ended up not being the place for us for a couple of reasons. They didn't have availability at the time we were looking. And ultimately it seemed like they did not have as much staff and therefore additional features. We were looking for a larger community with more planned activities and community interaction.

I wasn't impressed with Sun Valley Senior Living. The staff was very nice and helpful. The facility was very small. It's private pay only, so you can't switch them to Medicaid. The rooms were very small, and they shared bathrooms. The facility was not decorated very nicely. It was older, kind of dark, and dingy. The only thing I saw was a dining area and a TV room. They had a couple of patios you could go out to, which are nice.

I went to Sun Valley Senior Living. I like the representative who showed me around. She was very, very nice, and explained what the facility offered and what kind of facility it was. They did a great job of showing me around and making me feel welcome. They let me know that the facility could offer some good services for my father. I was told that they do it all, the assisted living and memory care. They showed me the dining area where they eat, they showed me a living room area where residents could sit and relax and watch TV. She told me that the foods were homemade. It's home-cooked; it's not any prepackaged processed food. They weren't as extravagant as the other facility, but the facilities were clean, and I was told that they would be doing some improvements.

I'm leaning towards Sun Valley Senior Living because it has the level of care that they said that they do. The room is semi-private, but my mom has to share a bathroom with four or five other people. I met some of the staff and they seemed to be very nice. The room itself is nice. They have a private room, but I think I'm going to go with a semi-private and that was nice as well. The grounds looked well maintained. The building looked well maintained. The seniors were doing OK, the ones I saw anyway. The dining area looked clean. I met the cook, and she seemed to be nice. When I went there, the residents were watching TV. The building was well maintained and very nice. The inside was well maintained. I didn't smell any stench of urine or anything like that.

Sun Valley Senior Living was clean. The girl who did the tour was gracious, caring, and knowledgeable. The dining room did not seem appealing to the eye. It did not seem like the residents were happy. I only saw a couple of staff in the whole house, but they were pleasant. The amenities were average because I didn't see anybody partaking in anything. I was there at 10:00 in the morning and they were just sitting in the TV room watching TV. They weren't active.
