It's old person's food, but it's OK. We've had a couple of meals there: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff we met were nice and professional. They knew all the residents by name. There's a really nice personal touch. My sister's room is clean and well kept. It's a decent size. They have games, movie nights, books, and outings. They take people out to stores, too.

I toured Terraces at Park Place and it was very nice. This was a larger facility compared to the others. The corridors were a little longer. I thought they had a lot to offer in terms of amenities. My dad is still pretty sharp in a lot of ways. And I didn't think it would be a good environment for him to be around residents that require a higher level of care. I didn't want him to be in a situation where that could be where he's placed. I just didn't think that was a good fit.

I visited Terraces at Parke Place. I toured both their memory care and assisted living facilities. I thought it was nice. Their assisted living was much nicer than memory care, but I understand that they have to keep a tight rein on them. It was a nice facility. The staff was nice. The one woman who helped me, I think her name's Aisha, she's very knowledgeable about the facility, and she volunteered a lot of information. She answered questions that I probably would not have remembered or known to ask; she was good. When I went there, they were getting some stuff ready, like games and different stuff. I didn't see them actually playing, but there were women in the game room. They have painting, word find, and different stuff like that.

We toured Terraces at Parke Place. The girl that toured me was fabulous. However, I noticed a lot of grumpy faces and a lot of angry-looking people, not like the other place where everybody was smiling, happy, and co-mingling. That one, they toured me, and we walked through, and a woman was reading a story to the residents, and they were half-asleep and they all smelled like they had something in their pants like they weren't attended to. So I didn't like that one at all. I didn't care for the place itself. I didn't have a good feeling about it at all. When I first got there, the woman who greeted me was very nice. She was very informative. She gave me a lot of great information. And the pricing on that place was really through the roof for what they had to offer. It was very outdated for the amount of money they wanted.

I found the Terraces at Parke Place for my mother. I've been there three times. It was very small and quiet. I believe it only has 70 residents. It looks just like the place where my mom is in North Carolina, so I thought that was nice. Everybody seems very friendly and kind, and has answered all my questions, and has helped me figure out how I'm going to get my mother here from North Carolina, so that's been a big help. There's a salon, there's a dining room, various living rooms where groups can gather for things. It's a fireplace with a big TV above it where they show movies. It just seems like a quiet, homey place. It's close to where we live, and the Jefferson Hospital is right down the road.
