The facility is clean and they have plenty of activities. That’s the only thing that’s great about this place. The caregivers were lazy and careless. The director over their memory care department is absolutely rude. As well as Jae the general manager. If they change management and the staff, Holbrook Decatur would be a wonderful place. Some of their caregivers seem to know nothing. It makes me kind of wonder how did they even get hired.

Dear Nascine, I write this letter with my heart overflowing with profound gratitude, compelled by the need to express the depth of appreciation that words may scarcely capture. From the moment I first stepped foot into Holbrook, your warmth enveloped me, turning what could have been a mere tour into a welcoming embrace. Navigating the complexities of entrusting a senior parent into the care of others is a daunting task, laden with constant worry. Yet, in you, I found a pillar of reassurance and tranquility. Seeking peace of mind became a reality as you orchestrated my mother''s transition with seamless grace, flawlessly, and with a precision that bespoke a dedication beyond mere duty. In moments of challenge, your unwavering support made the journey less arduous, guiding my steps with a compassion that transcends professional obligation. Your acts of grace and kindness illuminated not only your commitment to Holbrook''s residents but also the genuine care that defines your every action and character. Your faith in God, Nascine, became a solace to me, echoing the sentiment that my decision to bring my mother to Holbrook was a divine intervention. Your words resonated deeply, nearly bringing tears, as they served as a testament to the struggles and uncertainties I had faced in ensuring the care and stability of my beloved mother. I find solace in knowing that she resides in the perfect place, a testament to your pivotal role in this transformative journey. Yet, you didn''t confine your dedication to the pivotal moment of the move; rather, your unwavering commitment extended into every subsequent day, becoming the steadfast guide in my mother''s ongoing journey of adaptation to her new surroundings. Your attentiveness went beyond the ordinary, demonstrating a profound understanding that transition is not a one-time event but an ongoing process. Your support transcended the expected, encompassing not only the practicalities of medical and dialysis appointments but also extending to thoughtful gestures like introductions to staff, fostering a sense of familiarity and comfort. It was the nuanced details, such as your suggestion to place a chair in her closet, that reflected a level of care that goes beyond the ordinary, a consideration for her comfort that touched our hearts deeply. In moments when the challenges of adjusting to a new environment loomed, your gentle and caring touch provided not only solace but also a source of strength. Your ability to see and address the nuances of her daily life showcased a level of commitment that is truly exceptional. Our gratitude knows no bounds, Nascine. Your efforts are not just recognized but sincerely appreciated. In you, we have found not just a caregiver but a compassionate soul who has made an indelible impact on our lives. With heartfelt gratitude.

During my husband''s 1 year at Holbrook, the care and attention he received was truly excellent! Our experience in this lovely community was warm and inviting. His caregivers were always available and glad to help him. Because of the many activities available in assisted living, he was able to enjoy the pool, paint and create in art classes, play games and exercise daily with new friends he made. In Jennifer''s Parkinson''s Support Group, my husband found others who shared his personal experience and goals. There was a variety of good live entertainment that he especially enjoyed. The Concierge staff, Rorie, Gary and Terry, were always helpful to me and to my husband, as was valet attendant Omar, who assisted in getting him safely in and out of the car when we went out. When it was time to leave Holbrook, the Move-In Manager Nascine helped tremendously and enabled our departure to be an efficient and smooth one for us.
