This felt too institutional and corporate. Not the right fit for my loved one.
I have never met a more kind and caring group of people. All management and staff are committed to providing and safe and loving environment for my 98 year old aunt. I know she is in good hands. I would recommend The Palmettos to anyone looking for a place for there loved one.

Palmettos of Charleston is a place clean but dated. However, I was informed that they would be removing all of the carpets and replacing them with hardwood floors soon. The hallways are narrow too, but otherwise, it's a comfortable place. The staff has been friendly, very outgoing, and attentive. I did not try the food, but my mother cleaned her plate on her first meal and she was very pleased. I've checked their daily menu and it's adequate. There's enough choice and the portions are generous. I've observed some activities like exercises and arts and crafts as well. I believe they're under new management, so there's a change in administration and I am hoping it continues to improve.

I liked that this facility wasn't too small and wasn't too big. They keep my mother in law busy here, before COVID they would take them out into the community for different activities. All around they just seemed genuinely warm. The room sizes are great for what she needs, she is in a studio apartment. The food seems fine, she has not had any complaints. I would absolutely recommend The Palmettos of Charleston.
Read moreVery nice, clean, and friendly. [Name removed] was kind enough to give us a tour even though she said there was nothing on their books of a tour. Due to the distance from our house and no immediate availability in memory care this is not an option for us.
