Our mom was transferred to the skilled nursing unit from Memorial Hospital where she had received excellent care. At this facility my sister and I were unable to get anyone to answer the phones and despite leaving several voice messages for her care team we still have not received a call back. There is no communication. She arrived on Tuesday evening and my sister picked her up and took her home on Friday. The facility is rundown with mold in the bathrooms. I am writing this review so that if you are out of state and need to have a family member placed in a care center you reconsider.

I went ahead and committed to The Village at Northrise. I was very pleased with the gentleman who gave us the tour, and I was pleased with the facilities that I saw. All the amenities that I wanted as I was researching for the past 30 days, were the same. And I was very pleased with what they were offering over there. I am an ordained minister and they offered me a room where I could have my Sunday services, and I was very pleased with that. I was looking for a 1-bedroom apartment, but I have decided to probably go with a studio apartment instead because as a single person, the square footage of that room was very appropriate and I felt very comfortable there. They had all the amenities that I was searching for. I had interaction with Becky, who was the activity coordinator, and she was very kind and helpful, and I was very impressed. And then I talked to some of the people that live there to find out how they liked living there, and they were very pleased. So, that's a good testimonial in itself. I was graciously welcomed, all my questions were answered, and everything was very professional.

I placed my mother in Desert Willow 1 after her insurance said she could no longer stay at the RHOSN. She and her roommate arrived on the same day at approximately the same time. They both left three days later by ambulance and ended up in ICU. My mother was not getting enough oxygen and the oxygen concentrator they had her on wasn''t working and they didn''t even know it. Her roommate went unresponsive and if her family hadn''t been there she would have died. To make a long story short and I could write much more my mother is on the Advanced Care Hospital of Southern New Mexico after a week plus stay in the hospital, her roommate was transferred to hospice. Don''t ever send your loved one here unless you want them to die.
