This place is horable if you family member suffers from dementia. They leave them sitting in their wheelchairs for hours in the dining area. The play a video and or music on a monitor that''s dining room over and over again, instead of physically engaging with them. I intially choose this place for my dad because they said they have memory care and that he would get additional engagement care to stimulate his brain. Well although we paid extra money this, it never took place and literally two and a half weeks after my dad moved in, he got a stage 3 bedsore. I moved him out as soon as he was released from the hospital. Do not move anyone in this place who has dementia or Alzheimer.

This facility is in a beautiful Location, right on Sheepshead Bay In Brooklyn , NY. The staff is excellent, very kind, very knologeable and very helpful. The place is spotless and kept very clean, the rooms are adeguate and very light and kept very clean. The staff menage your medications. A Doctor is in the house two times a week. We have a Nurse every day of the week. Lots of activities during the day, a Movie each night of the week excep the weekend.

I was not impressed with The Waterford. The care was below average. I was disappointed in what they had available for activities. Family is not allowed to go into the dining room to eat with their loved ones. The food they brought to her room did not look good. I took my mom out of there after a couple of weeks. It was a bit cheaper than where she's at now, but you get what you pay for.
