Assisting my parents move from out of state to independent living here in Utah has been challenging to say the least, but the team at Coventry has made the process as comfortable as possible. Management, the Care Team, dining and cleaning staff have all been wonderful and genuinely friendly and accommodating. All commitments have been kept and they continue to be a solid resource for us. Thank you!

My sister-in-law moved into Escalante at Coventry. This was better than any of the places and the room sizes were significantly better, the facility was cleaner, so it was just outstanding. The walk-in closet is huge. The bathroom is a large area and they have this seat that's there with one of those moving shower heads so that they can sit down while they take care of themselves. They had double bedrooms or single bedrooms, or they had a studio. Their dining areas are like, you've gone to a fancy restaurant. And all of the different rooms are off to the side, so you don't walk in and have several older people sitting in lounge chairs with their mouths open. This is an apartment community with all the services hidden in different corridors. It's for couples that are older and want to be there. So this is an extremely interesting lifestyle place. They have waiters come to their table, and ask them what they want. The food comes out immediately. The food is good. They can have a total variety of the different things they want. And if they chose not to dine, they could have the food delivered to their room. So this place is just incredible. The building is very well maintained, beautiful, and has no smells. It's just a beautiful apartment community. Every room has a balcony.

Since the newest takeover of this facility (there have been 3 corporate owners in 6 years, and 5 executive directors) the care has declined to a state of neglect. They are chronically understaffed, the food service is not compliant with state guidelines, the so called "elevate dining" program is so bad they can't even produce menus in advance. On Christmas the dining room was closed and residents received meals in styrofoam boxes left in their room. Admnistrators are non-responsive, make empty promises. THere is no dignity or respect here. There are a handful of long time direct care staff who are fabulous - but that's the only positive. Rooms aren't updated with fresh paint or carpet, even after 5 years.

We've visited Escalante at Coventry but they didn't seem very interested in talking to us rather than petting a dog that came in. They didn't show us the apartment step by step, the staff just told us to go in and we could look around ourselves. They had very small communal areas, tight quarters, and rundown living spaces for a very high price. She didn't show us if they have any activities. I was very disappointed with what they had to show us. So the staff we saw wasn't keen on having my mother-in-law come there, and she had plenty of money to go live there. I saw the staff talking to the other residents and they seemed friendly, but they didn't give us the same friendliness that they gave the others.

We have chosen Escalante at Coventry. The way we were treated when we were looking was the reason we chose them. Everybody was attentive, and they did what they said they do and that is important. It's close to home. I'm just so pleased when I went over there and did an in-person visit. There were a lot of things, but what made me choose it is their director, Ashley. She did exactly what she said she'd do, and she followed through with everything. We're all new to this, and I was unaware that we had to supply everything, but you do. Like a bed, chair, Depends, whatever, you have to supply for your member. I noticed when I came in, there was a peacefulness. There wasn't any yelling or even employees talking in the corner, that kind of thing. It was just peaceful. It gave my heart peace. When the staff took me to the facility and showed me where my husband would be eating and where he would be sleeping, I just felt relief. I don't know if it's because I've been doing everything for him, and it's been extremely hard on me, or whether I know he's going to be in a good place and I know he'll be taken care of, and that is my main goal. And he's also close to his whole family. The staff looked you right in the eye, and they said hello. It seems like it's not just a job, it's a career for them. Whether it's a job or not, they treat it as if it was important, and it is. I didn't see anything that concerned me at all. The cleanliness, the care for which they provide the meals and everything, I was very impressed. They listed the daily menu. They're listed on a board to see what the main thing is going to be all week long. I never saw the food itself, but I met the chef and he seemed to be like on the ball.

We have been to the Escalante at Coventry several times. I'm going to choose this for my parents because of the price and location. They've got a lot of amenities and everything that our parents need. They also have a courtyard, but it's not nearly as big as another one that we looked at, which would have been nice. They have a salon, they have activities, they have a small garden with grow boxes, and they've got a nice lobby with a piano and an organ. The place is very clean.
