At the Timberwood Court Memory Care community in Albany, Oregon, seniors can receive top-quality Alzheimer’s care services at one of the area’s leading retirement homes. Like an assisted living community, Timberwood Court offers a variety of senior living options for residents to choose from. All of the facility’s supportive services are tailored for people with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and short-term memory loss, giving them a safe and comfortable place to live while receiving treatment. The community’s staff members deliver many different senior care services on-site, including medication assistance and help with each resident’s daily living activities, similar to the supportive services a person may receive at an assisted living facility or with in-home care. Like Albany’s other retirement homes and long-term care communities, Oregon’s long-term care ombudsman oversees Timberwood Court to stop residential care abuse before it starts. The long-term care ombudsman inspects the facility several times a year to make sure they are delivering care up-to-par with their standards for a memory care community, ensuring each resident’s safety and quality of life.
Like many of Frontier Management’s Alzheimer’s care communities, Timberwood Court treats residents with similar care routines as an assisted living community. Timberwood Court residents may receive medication assistance and assistance with their daily living activities from the facility’s staff members as they would if they received in-home care or lived in an assisted living facility. However, Timberwood Court varies from most retirement communities because their senior housing units and senior care services are specially designed for people with Alzheimer’s disease. Like other community-based retirement communities in Albany, Timberwood Court is only licensed to provide residential care services and may not offer skilled nursing care. Seniors who require ongoing skilled nursing care (beyond medication assistance) may consider one of the area’s local nursing homes or skilled nursing facilities to receive treatment, as Timberwood Court is not permitted to offer such services on-site.
Of the memory care facilities and senior living homes in Linn County, Oregon, Timberwood Court is one of the most popular. To learn more about the community, its senior housing options, and its long-term care services, prospective residents and their family members may consider scheduling a tour of the facility. Touring the facility can give seniors and their family members a closer look at what it means to be a resident at Timberwood Court, making it easy to compare it with other retirement communities in the vicinity.

The management was open to constructive feedback and took action on things they could.

My loved one was there a short period of time, and passed away. We got her settled in, and after that things were shut down due to COVID-19. They requested for me to bring more clothes. I talked to the Hospice Nurse, and she was fine, and when were finally able to visit the facility smelled like urine, and it did not smell like that when we initially visited. They had not washed any of my loved ones laundry. They tried to give my loved one pills/medication while she was comatized. It was a horrible experience, and they treated my loved one horrible. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Read moreTimberwood Court Memory Care is really nice and my husband is doing really well so far. All the people who assisted me are really good. Even one of them came to where I live because I wasn't able to come in at at particular time. So, the people go beyond their call of duty.

Timberwood Court Memory Care didn't smell like an old folks' home or a retirement home where they don't take care of their people. I liked everything about it because it's so close to me. The staff was very nice and very knowledgeable. They called me to find out if I'm doing OK for the interview, and things like that. The rooms looked very nice, clean, and looked like the residents were enjoying themselves. You walk around in a circle, then there was a court that was open to the residents to go in and out of. They lock the doors when it is not safe out there, like if it's too hot or if it's icy or anything like that. Otherwise, they have lots of plants, trees, birds, and butterflies.
