The rooms are clean abd well maintained. The quality of food is great and varied. I cannot say enough about the quality of the entire staff. There are a variety of activities for residents to participate in on a daily basis. They are very attentive to the residents needs and go above and beyond the call of normal duties to assist the residents. THis is the third assisted living community my brother has lived in and is by far and away the best. I would recommend the Godton to anyone seeking a better quality of life for the loved one,

If my in-laws could have afforded The Goldton at Athens, I would have loved to have seen them there for a couple of reasons. One, it was beautiful. Two, it was closer to us. The room they had was very spacious. My in-laws would have loved all the rooms, but it was just outside of their budget. It had a kitchenette, living area, and separate bedroom. The room was a little bit larger. The executive director's name was Shannon and she took time to sit down with me to discuss the needs, what they have to offer, and kind of look at pricing and things like that. It was like a gorgeous hotel. It was beautiful. I'd stay there myself if I needed to.

My mom is a resident of The Goldton at Athens. We're very happy with it. There seems to be adequate staff and a lot of different activities. All of the staff and the residents are very friendly. I think that for the few days that she's been there, I think the food is very good. And it has just a good overall atmosphere. Everything has been great. Before she moved in and they were cleaning her room, there was a stain in the carpet that they couldn't get out. So, they replaced the carpet. Now she has a brand-new carpet in there. They do a nice job of making you feel welcome and keeping it in good repair. They have a bistro area downstairs, and they have activities there, too. They have a contractor for the physical therapy so there's a separate room with weights and equipment in there. They have a games area with open tables and good lighting, and then they have a puzzle room. I know my mom participated in bingo one-time last week. They also have a big dining hall. The Goldton at Athens is very, very clean, very bright, with a good, positive environment.

The Goldton at Athens was very nice. It's not that old. The facility was really beautiful. The problem there was it was not a good location for me and the dog. There was no exit out of the apartment directly into the yard. I had to take him out in the hall and out to the exit door. There wasn't very much yard space. The staff member during the tour was excellent, very friendly, and very encouraging. She knew I had lost my husband, and she is certainly the right person for the job. The dining area was beautiful. The room was basically like the other assisted living places. It had a living room kitchen combination and a bedroom. My number one concern was there was no outside exit in the apartment. I couldn't go open a door and be outside with my dog. There were people working puzzles, and a lot of them just sitting around visiting with one another. There was an elevator if you weren't on the first floor. It was right after lunch, and I think almost everybody must go take a nap or something. It definitely would have been my number one choice if it had been the right accommodation for me and my dog.
