It had a fresh environment. They had a little patio, and they had a game room for the elderly. They had an activities coordinator, and they had games. They had a lot of stuff for a small community. It's a smaller place than other places here in Longview, but you can just tell this was more of a low-key place. They probably have anywhere from 11 to 13 residents, versus other places where they have 30 or 40 residents. You can tell the residents got a little bit more one-on-one care that they can provide.

The price is one of the main factors for why we moved my mom into Trinity Timbers Assisted Living, but the small-home atmosphere, I guess, is the best thing about it. Some of the staff aren't full-time employees of the place and came from an agency. The levels of care are kind of combined. They don't really have a separate section for memory care, but they help take care of people with memory issues, so it's kind of combined. After living there, my mom is kind of non-responsive. It's not their fault though, it's just the progress of the disease. I know that they have activities, but she hasn't participated in anything. The place is close to where we live and easy to get to.

My father is a resident of Trinity Timbers Assisted Living. Everything's great, he's getting along really good, and the people there are great. I couldn't have picked a better place. It's an 11-patient facility, he has his own room, a separate bath, they do everything else for him, laundry, clean up, and somebody is there 24/7. The staff is very sweet, very attentive, and just top rank in my opinion. They have a community living room and dining room area, they stood right there and wait with him, they watch TV, they worked puzzles with them, and they took them to see Christmas lights the other night on a bus. They've had 2 Christmas parties for them, or a family night, someone sang Christmas carols. Another night, they had an employee party, the residents were also included, and everybody got a Christmas gift. They really planned a lot of things, they try to make it a home-type atmosphere, and it's really a nice place. He likes the food, they do home-cook meals, and so it's really nice. It's a lot less expensive than some of the others that maybe had newer facilities, but with a lot of people, where he wouldn't get individual care, but here he does.
