I personally wish I could give this place zero stars. Please don’t send your loved ones here. My grandma went in for rehabilitation after she fell and fractured her shoulder. They kept her on really intense pain medication all the time. She was so out of it, always sleeping, and could barely talk. They also weren’t moving her enough or turning her on different sides. My aunt (who is a retired nurse) continued to tell the staff and the doctor that they need to have her move and turn her otherwise she will get pneumonia. After a few days, she got pneumonia and had to go to the hospital…twice. My grandma was at this horrible facility for not even three weeks. A couple days before Christmas we didn’t find out until the later morning that one of the nurses went to check on her in the middle of the night and she wasn’t responsive. They sent her to the hospital, but didn’t contact any of us until the later morning. They also failed to mention that her oxygen levels were way below what they should’ve been. So many things were wrong with this place and everyone was very sketchy. Even after my grandma passed my mom asked for her medical records and they never called her back. In fact, she had to call and speak to the head manager who gave her tons of hassle. My mom even went into that horrible place to speak with the manager who proceeded to give her hassle about my grandma’s medical records…even asked my mom how my grandma was. They had no idea she had died. They did not help her or take care of her.

God help you if you try to get through before the office opens. In the last 2 months I have lost count on how many times I have called before office hours and the phone is answered and slammed down on the receiver, not answered, or just put on hold. It takes 5 seconds and a shrewd of decency to talk to a person. Currently on hold (they literally picked up the phone and put it on hold, nothing else) for over 15 minutes, I called 8 minutes prior to the office opening to leave a message, the office has now been open for 13 minutes and I’m still on hold. When you get someone, 95% of the people you speak to are lovely, but getting to them is difficult (took screenshot before I started posting, it’s currently 8:44 and still on hold)

Just want to take this opportunity to let the public know what a top notch staff this facility has. I have visited my loved one on 3 occasions since his admission, and I’ve found Vermont Care Center to be clean, orderly and the CNAs, LVNs and even Engineering were professional, polite, knowledgeable & compassionate. I can genuinely recommend VCC to any & all potential patients & their families who are in need of short-term rehabilitation. I am in the medical profession, I work as an RN CM for a well respected acute care hospital in the South Bay. Part of my scope of practice is to refer & discharge my hospital patients to skilled nursing facilities. Vermont Care Center provides EXCELLENT service & care as I’ve had 1st hand experience having a loved one in-admission. The therapy room is impressive. My loved one has had no complaints & if he does have a request, he stated staff addresses his need in a timely manner. . The Administration is actively involved with patients & staff assuring the quality of care is excellent & in my view, has set the bar high for skilled nursing facilities. Thank you Vermont Care Center! Annette Reyes RN CM
