I loved Victory Centre of Vernon Hills. I wanted to live there. The woman who gave me the tour told me that I would be able to move in either May 1st or June 1st, so I got to packing and was excited about the prospect and so forth. And then so I called and said we're getting to May 1st, and what's the deal? Am I supposed to be ready to move? And they told me that the woman who had given me that tour was no longer with the company and that they didn't know where she came up with May or June 1st because their waiting list is 12 to 18 months, and that upset me. I tried contacting the executive director and she was not responsive. I asked if there was any way we could work around that requirement since they had promised me something they couldn't deliver, and basically, the answer was 'No, leave me alone.' So I left with a really bad taste in my mouth, and I'm so sad about it because I would still love to live there. But they treated me very badly and didn't even have the courtesy to apologize and speak to me about it via e-mail. The studios are small as you would expect. It was a nice facility, and I could see myself living there happily. The staff who gave me the tour was very misinformed and told me things that weren't true. They have several places to eat and they're all very clean. The people there were very friendly and seemed happy to be there. I saw their library, which was nice. I saw their activities calendar, and it was impressive.

In house visiting nurse practitioner is excellent. Executive staff is trying; much upheaval. Polite and helpful initial entry. Clean and organized. Safe. Nursing staff is non-communicative. Dining is poorly staffed and mom complains the food is not good. Half of the LEAs are good but other half is agency hired and they do not speak English so hard to communicate and safely work alongside. Main staff communicates well and again the working staff is marginal. I do not care for the nursing staff. They make you feel like you are a total burden.

We went to Victory Centre of Vernon Hills. The community was very convenient to where we live. It was clean. The staff was friendly and very professional. We were very pleased with the facility. They said that my aunt would be a good fit there, so we put that on our list. The rooms were typically sized. They had the kitchenette in there. I know there was a big window for natural light. It looked very clean and well-kept. The amenities were pretty typical. They had podiatrists, audiologists, a doctor coming in, and nurses on staff. They had all kinds of activities, bingo, puzzles, artwork, and things like that going on. The residents seemed happy and relaxed. The dining area was a good area with large tables spread apart.
