I wasn't as impressed with Celebrate South Holland. It seemed like the residents were not monitored as closely as I expected them to be because residents were allowing people inside and they were able to open doors. And for them to have free access to the doors, I wasn't satisfied with that. The rooms for the residents were nice in terms of space, but they didn't have any type of furnishings. The residents were required to furnish their own space. The person who provided the tour was very professional and willing to answer questions. They had rooms where the residents could gather, but I didn't see any outdoor space for them to walk around and sit outside. I don't believe that there was any fencing or enclosed spaces for them outdoors. They also probably need to brighten things up. I did detect a urine smell inside, so they needed to improve on their maintenance, too.

We put an application into the Celebrate South Holland. We chose them because they accept Section 8 and the others didn't and they weren't as expensive. It's like a high rise. They provide three meals a day and room cleaning. The assisted living, had medical personnel on the premises, which is what I was looking for. The models we saw were clean and the cafeteria was clean. We met Tara. There was also a lady who was new, and she didn't want to let us in the front door. She said we had to go around to the back and it was about to make me change our minds, but this is the only facility that seems suitable. We toured it twice and both times it was with Tara and she was friendly. We didn't interact with anybody else. Tara seemed assuring and she gave us her cellphone so we could get in touch with her there. However, when I was calling the number at first, I didn't know if she was getting the message or not, but I didn't get a callback. I had to call again.

We toured Celebrate South Holland for my parents. It seemed like it was a nice little place. They had a lot of stuff to do there for seniors. The rooms are a bit small, but I think it would be okay for two people. They have a church service for the seniors, bingo night, a coffee shop, and a movie night with popcorn. So, they have different activities. The staff were fine.

The rooms at Celebrate South Holland had old furniture and stuff like that. The mattress was old and my mom was trying to find a place where she could bring her own furniture. She wants nobody else's stuff. It was just kind of nasty. They need more cleanliness. It had a smell in it and they just have an old kitchen. They need to update that and make it look presentable, like make people want to come in for meals. I only met the woman who showed us around the place, but the other people seemed like they were OK. I didn't see enough amenities. I saw a couple of stuff. Some of the stuff was closed. They had a beauty salon (I think a lady comes in there) and I don't think it was open then. They had outdoor seating where you could sit in the front of the building. There's a Walgreens nearby, a dentist's place, and a couple of restaurants in the area.

I went to Celebrate South Holland yesterday. Everything was good until she said they didn't have a kitchen. I don't want an apartment without a kitchen. They have a dining area and three meals a day. The receptionist was good, and the administration was good. The residents were sitting outside enjoying the air. I think the facility for what they do is good.
