If you are considering sending your loved one here, look no further if you want them to have substandard care and eat prison food. If, however, you actually love your family member, I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere, and run for the hills as fast as you can just like nearly every staff member (who wasn''t morally bankrupt) has since Sprenger opened the building. This is not a 4.7 star rated facility. The marketing team for this company pressures it''s employees to leave five star reviews to artificially inflate the facility''s overall star rating and move to the top of the page in Google searches. Do not be fooled. Sprenger spends most of its money on marketing and expanding the company, which is why employee compensation is dead last for NE Ohio medical facilities. To add insult to injury, they only give AT BEST 1.5% annual raises to staff each year. This explains the poor staffing company wide, and is the root cause of the abysmal patient care. Read Gary Wendling''s review here. That 100% happened. The focus on marketing and business expansion causes the food and equipment to remain below par as well. Honestly, the budget for food is single dollars per patient per DAY. It mimics a prison food budget. The complaints about food are legitimate. Once, dinner was half a sandwich. HALF. Almost all Sprenger facilities are basically well appointed torture chambers, but THIS building deserves particular notice, because it has not been able to turn a profit since it opened, digging itself further and further into debt each month. This climbing debt has caused Sprenger corperate to apply pressure on the facility management to cut corners that compromise the lives of every patient and staff member. For example, CPR is, at minimum, at 2 person job. However, it is not uncommon (and during the height of COVID was actually required) to staff only one CPR certified employee between the hours of 10pm and 6am. One employee for BOTH the Assisted Living and the Skilled Nursing buildings, not one employee EACH. If your loved one has a medical emergency during that time, it is unlikely anyone will notice and even less likely they will be able to help. Sprenger is a morally corrupt company that will absolutely let your loved one die to save a dollar. And they will let it happen painfully if it will save them two. If you read this, and still decide to choose this facility, please pay close attention to your loved one and the care they are receiving. Their happiness, and more importantly, their life depends on it.

My mom came to skilled nursing at VOF about a year ago after a number of hospitalizations and rehab stays at several other facilities. I knew she’d need to go into AL after she rehabbed, and I had been looking for a place where she could transition to AL. This all took place during COVID, so you can imagine the frustrations and fears I had going into this process. Sure, there were staffing issues during the ongoing pandemic and, sure, I was frustrated at times. However, in the long run, looking back, things at VOF have been pretty darn good for my mom. Their PT team and nursing staff made a huge difference in my mother’s rehab, and she’s made an amazing recovery and is now happily residing in the AL section of VOF and walking again! When there have been issues, the executive and nursing staff were very attentive to them. Things might not have been fixed immediately, but they were definitely fixed or they’d continue to work on the issue until it was taken care of. The staff at VOF regularly listen to the residents’ concerns and make any improvements that they can based on that feedback. We appreciate this aspect of VOF. The activities coordinator does an excellent job of engaging the residents and plans great social events and outings. Bottom line is that there is no 100% perfect care facility, especially during a pandemic, but VOF does a great job, and my mom is genuinely happy and well cared for in her AL apartment. The nurses and aides are wonderful and make her feel at home while caring for her daily needs. And, they’ve done an excellent job of keeping the residents safe from COVID outbreaks, and they continue to stay on top of that, even with the numbers dropping drastically. The skilled nursing side is brand new with beautiful homey décor, and the AL side is freshly renovated and also very homey, and the entire facility is very clean. Additionally, the AL rooms are quite spacious compared to the other AL places I had looked into. I cannot tell you how stressed I was about finding a permanent place for my mom, but I could not be happier with the decision to have her move to Village of the Falls. For reference, I waited to write this review because I wanted to make it as honest as possible and not a knee-jerk reaction review of being happy or displeased right off the bat. After almost a year, I can honestly say we''re quite happy! Thanks Kate, Misty, Angie, Elizabeth, and all the rest of the staff at VOF for taking such good care of my mom!

My mother was at Village of the Falls for 3 weeks. During that time, we had to do most of the care giving. She was not taken care of properly. Nurses and staff would not listen to the family even though we knew she was declining. After she passed away, the staff never called, emailed or sent a card with their condolences. The entire experience was very stressful and disappointing.

My mother was at Village of The Falls until she passed away. I was able to spend quality time with her before she left us. The staff took exceptional care of her and she felt the love that they provided to her. Misty was caring and made all attempts to give my mom and our family hope. My mom was very ill when she came to the Village of The Falls, but with their dedicated care we had time to spend with her. I highly recommend this facility to anyone that is looking for a loved one. Thank you to everyone at the Village of The Falls.

I feel like I’m their Mom so I get the best. Misty is a sweetheart. I know when she’s coming down the halls because of her hi-heel clicks! Many of these aides here go overboard for us. I even started to like the food! I’ve made many friends here Thank you Everyone that made my stay Aok.
