My brother Michael NeSmith was very sick they called for an ambulance to take him to the hospital. The ambulance driver didn''t think he should go so he didn''t get taken to the hospital. I kept trying to reach my brother on his cell phone. I sent my husband to find out why he wasn''t answering. At the nursing home they told him he was in yhe hospital. They didn''t what hospital or for how long or why. It turned out he was septic and had been in the hospital for 5 days. No one notified me he was in the hospital. They had called me in the past for a fall, medicine changes ect... He had to have a temporary pace maker put in because the septis infection moved to his heart. He passed away it might have been avoid if he had went to the hospital sooner. The hospital never contacted me either even though I was at the top of their list as contact person.

I would not put my dead cat in this nursing home. Believe me, I''ve seen it from the other side. I worked there. They only had 2 or 3 aides that worked for them and I was one. The other aides are agency girls who don''t care a bit about your loved one. They''re only there for the money. If I could rate this place less I would. And on another note, in case anyone is interested, this nursing home is bringing in positive covid-19 patients to make money. Out of 30 residents, approximately 20 have tested positive and 1 has died since this practice started.

You can''t ask for better care for your loved ones than Willow Creek. My dad wanted to return to Mount Vernon and I was warned that the care in a small town would not be to the same quality as the DFW metroplex. The warning was wrong. My dad spent a month in a skilled nursing in Arlington, Texas that was grimmy, dirty, the food was prepared like prison food, and all the staff seemed to hate their job. Willow Creek in Mount Vernon was just the opposite - I felt I was bringing my parents to resort grade care - actually better - because you don''t get the heart at a resort like you do at Willow Creek. Big kudos to the leadership and staff. The gentleness, and kindness and even cleverness of ALL the staff in helping my parents get settled in under very difficult circumstances verges on being possibly angelic. Their COVID ward was exceptionally well run since my parents were still testing positive when they arrived. I am so grateful they could take them. The nurses, CNAs, and all staff except maybe one, were exceptionally professional but also warm and real and best of all kept their sense of humor. It was more than a J.O.B. for all of them. Big Thanks to Diane, Lekayla, Bronica, Wendy, Melissa, David, Stella, Jennifer, Darrenika, Cassandra, (and I know I am forgetting others - I apologize). I am forever grateful for you helping me give my dad his last wish, and setting up my mom for success without him.

As ex-charge nurse, I have had the unfortunate experience of being injured on the job and having no medical backup. I was injured by one of my residents. DON was on duty so paperwork was filled out immediately. CNA was present and witnessed attack. I had no insurance at that time.so I could not go to the ER. Next day they sent me to see facility physician. Injuries were assessed, limits were given, facility said there was no light duty jobs in facility. Facility physician sent me to Orthopedic Specialist who said that if they had no light duty jobs that he would put me off work until I could have surgery to repair damage to left shoulder. To make a longer story short, workman''s comp was denied, could not get unemployment because I couldn''t work. I have been put through the ringer. That was August 2017. This has been a very harrowing experience. I was always the one who was called in to work for others. Even this past November I was called to see if I could come in and work. I laughed. Due to what I went through, I am unable to work. I have anxiety issues, and found that I was unable to work in LTC facilities. I was not able to file a lawsuit because no one would take my case. I wish the best for the residents, but, there are better places to live. Staff is awesome, they give 200%, but corporate is in the business for what they can get out of staff and residents.

For 2 years my family and I struggled with placing my grandmother into a nursing home. We can now go to sleep at night knowing our grandmother is taken care of and LOVED! Living an hour away I can’t visit as often as I want to, but seeing the Facebook post with all the activities she is involved in, the smile on her face and the love she is receiving from the staff at Willow creek is amazing! Makes my heart happy knowing she is Loved by so many. I haven’t seen a smile on her face in a long time. We had several bad experiences with other facilities but Willow Creek is a breath of fresh air for us! Thank you Willow Creek and all your staff for taking care of and loving my 90 year old grandmother when we can’t be there!
