I took my mom to see a resident today. I can’t comment on specific patient care but I can say that the facility seems very clean and orderly. It didn’t have that “nursing home” smell (you know what I’m talking about). The staff were smiling and friendly and the facility had a lot of windows. They have a therapy gym and lots of available activities. My mom''s friend was finishing a shower when we arrived and the staff member helping her was smiling and laughing as she fixed the lady’s hair. Mom’s friend seems happy and well cared for.

The facility was very clean and the property well maintained. I would recommend them for a care option if I was in need of their services again. A more appropriate name would be Unfocused Affliction. This place should be SHUT DOWN, and if you have loved ones who stay here, you should have them relocated. This is a medically negligent facility that doesn''t seem to know up from down and will say one thing while doing the opposite. It takes special caring people to work together and do the kind of work required at a nursing home. Unfortunately not enough people of that calibur work at this facility. Too many staff members employed here don''t care about the residents, don''t pay attention to what they''re doing or how, and altogether don''t seem to want to do the job they''re employed to do. Oversight promotes this constant environment by not effectively addressing it. Some staff appear to be in kahoots to wake residents up in the middle of the night (4 am) to "change" them when nothing is soiled. Then when a patient does need attention, they won''t respond to the need for 4 hours. They will just keep coming in to turn off the call button and leave the room. Perhaps this is a big funny joke to them. When a specific incident was brought to the attention of the director, she stated that they have a zero tolerance for that and that the 2 staff members involved had already been suspended. But apparently at Focused Care, "suspended" means both people continue working there as if nothing happened. It seems oversight is in on the big joke. If you choose Focused Care for your family member, DO NOT FEEL CONFIDENT that they will receive proper care. If you are ok with missed meals, missed appointments, skipped medications, few showers, staff thinking your loved one is an entirely different resident with completely different medical needs, accidental and intentional medical negligence, lack of concern and proper care, then this is the place for you!

Honestly, everything about this place is a lie, right down to their name. Focused care? NOTHING about the place is caring OR focused. Sure, a select few nurses working here are nice, but eventually they move on to better jobs after getting experience. The only people left working here are those not looking for experience in the health care field and people working here because they need easy money. Hardly any of the nurses bother helping patients, and they think they can get away with it because so many patients have Alzheimer’s and aren’t capable of speaking up. SIMPLY PUT: DON’T LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. Patients don’t get proper care, most nurses are unfriendly, the food is honestly disgusting, the whole place gives me a bad, unwelcome atmosphere, nurses openly gossip about patients, and so many more problems.

If you are looking for atmosphere, this is a good place. But if you are looking for dependable care for your loved one, go elsewhere. The nurses are slow to respond, the food served is cold and other patients are un-attended. Even the driver taking patients to their appointments is reckless. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because the rehab therapists were good and seemed to care about their patients.
