I love my parents dearly and only want the best for them. However, the time has come where I can no longer care for them in my own home. I researched and viewed MANY nursing homes and assisted living centers before choosing Prestige Assisted Living at Henderson. Appropriately sized and clean apartments, quality and diverse meal menus, entertaining activities that many residents really do enjoy, friendly and attentive staff, and a level of care that exceeds my very own expectations. My father has Parkinson’s and dementia and is challenged in all his daily needs. The staff took the time to not only learn what his needs are , but how best to meet them. They listened patiently to what worked well for my father while living with me and successfully implemented many of those same techniques into their quality of care for him. They are more than an assisted living center. They are a home that provides professional care with a compassionate heart. I am thankful and blessed to have found them🙏

Prestige Assisted Living at Henderson was good. The building was a little older though, and it looked a little smaller on the inside. My mom's in a wheelchair, so it looked a little harder to get around. They have an activities room where they can do board games, puzzles, and stuff like that for the people there. They do a lot of good stuff there and would do trips out. The staff during the tour was very friendly and welcoming.

Prestige Assisted Living at Henderson was very nice, but they were not close to being like the other place. It was a step up from a nursing home and that would not work for my mother. She is still very young at heart. She would age quickly in a place like that. I would not be able to put my mother in a place like that. We didn't just walk in. We spoke with the receptionist there, told them why we were there, and what we were looking for, and they had someone show us around a little bit. The other place was wanting our business and did what they could to give us all the information we needed to decide about my mom's future. It looked like a skilled nursing facility. My husband's mom was in one for a very long time out here in California and Prestige was very reminiscent of where my mother-in-law stayed. I didn't care for the room. It's too small and a little rundown. The staff during the tour was wonderful. The administrator went so far as to visit my mother in rehab. She brought her a gift basket filled with all kinds of goodies. It was during the holidays and she just came in to talk to my mom and see how she was and just to say hello. That made my mother feel good, but even with all of that, if I were to put my mother in Prestige, she would be very, very depressed. The food looked OK. A lot of the people were in wheelchairs, very quiet, sitting alone, heads tilted down, smiling, like what you would find in a skilled nursing facility. First impressions are lasting, and I walked in and there was what looked like a big yellow garbage can and there were mops in it. They were cleaning up, but they should not leave it there at the front where you got visitors like myself coming in who are checking it out for the first time. I just didn't like that at all.

We did a tour of Prestige Assisted Living at Henderson. When we walked in, there was a desk, and they were very careful because of COVID. They had us put on a clean mask, took our temperature, and use the disinfectant on our hands. There was a living room, it was quite big, and that was the dining room also. There was a country, western singer and people were listening to him. Then we went up the elevator and we saw a 1-bedroom place. We're interested in a 2-bedroom, but at least we saw the 1-bedroom. They had two 2-bedrooms, but they were occupied so we couldn't see them, but we saw the blueprint. We went outside and looked at the outdoors in the back, which was lovely. We sat down with Christy, that was the director. We talked with her, and she gave us a folder with information like what the place was about and a week of the daily food menu. We got the price of the place, which was reasonable. It was very nice. It was off a busy road, which was nice because it wasn't right on the busy street. There was something in front of there. We like that it wasn't on a busy street. We didn't see the kitchen, and we didn't see the food. It wasn't that time; it was like two o'clock at the time we went. The staff was very friendly. Christy was very nice; she was very helpful. She answered all our questions, gave us the prices, and the square footage of the apartment. She was very pleasant and welcomed us, and so was the receptionist. She was very nice and accommodating. I think the room is too small for two people, but it was clean. I guess everything was painted about two months ago and had new carpeting, that was all nice. It had one closet in the bedroom, and then it had a linen closet off of the bathroom. Those were the only two closets they had there. The bedroom was sufficient, I think a queen-sized bed would fit in there. The living room was small but adequate. But my husband wants something a little bigger. There was an activities room. We didn't go in, but she showed us the room and there was a TV in there, a big TV. We could go there and watch TV if we wanted to. She said that was an activity room, I think that's where they did exercise. There is memory care there also, but we didn't see any of that. I asked her if it's just the person that has the memory problem who can go there, or can the couple go. She said the couple could go, which was helpful. We wanted the 2-bedrooms, that was a little disappointing that we didn't see it. She did say that we could be put on a waiting list, but it'll be in the future, so maybe in six months or a year. We could put our name down, and when they call and we're not ready; we can just tell them, and it would go to somebody else.
Read moreThe meals at this community are good. I would recommend this community but it depends on if there is a room available. We were lucky to be able to find a room and get in when we were looking they only had two rooms available. There is a lot of demand for availability here.
