Shady organization and boarderline ethics. From terrible communication to withholding funds, this is not a trustworthy place.

I am staying at the Rose Garden of Fort Myers. We have our own apartments here. They provide the laundry and cleaning. My experience has been good. The staff is good. My apartment is basically a room with a private bath. It's kept up, clean, and adequate. It's a relatively pleasant place to be. It's a large community dining area. They provide meals three times a day. The food is adequate. I don't have any complaints about it. They have minimal activities. There were no trips or anything. There were no clubs. There's a library, public TV rooms, and outdoor covered spaces.

My husband has moved into The Rose Garden of Fort Myers. So far, it's fine. What made me decide on The Rose Garden is that his rent is cheaper here than where he was staying before. Also, they're going to get him on Medicaid because our finances are running low, so that was a big help for me. The staff are excellent. My husband's room is almost the same shape as the room that he had at the other place. It's one room with a bathroom and a closet. The dining area is fine. They order off of the menu, whereas at the other place, you eat what they gave you, whether you like it or not. For activities, there's a jigsaw puzzle here that the patients are working on. My husband is also able to have his own television, so we're going to have that installed on the wall. So far, so good. Everyone seems to get along just fine. They had a little bake sale here a little while ago, and they were selling baked goods to the patients as well as to the visitors. This is not a Hilton by any means. It's an older building, but it's well-kept. The grounds are well-kept, too. They also have a special parking place for would-be clientele, and that's where I park all the time.

My mother is at The Rose Garden of Fort Myers. When we got there, even though there were a lot of people, it seemed like a very small, tight-knit community. My mom just kind of felt at home and at ease. They do bingo on the weekends. They have a bunch of card games and regular games that they play. All of their meals are served in a room like a restaurant. There is a theater where they can go and watch a movie together. I went and had lunch with my mom on Sunday, and it was good. It wasn't like five-star quality, but it was home-cooked meals. She gets dessert with lunch and dinner, so that's probably her favorite part. The staff members are friendly. I'm pretty impressed with their memory. They all know my mom, which room she's in, and the things that she likes or doesn't like. They've spent enough time with her that she's not just another old lady in a room. The moving process was very disorganized. My mom was supposed to move in one day. At 8:00 PM the night before, they called and told me she couldn't move in. I had already given notice. So for three days, I didn't have anywhere for her to be, so that was pretty hard to take care of. They are communicating great with my mom, but I'm the one who pays the bill, and I haven't been told how to pay that yet or where to pay it. They could communicate a little bit better with the family members.
