The Continental is an all-inclusive independent senior living community located in sunny Austin, Texas. Residents enjoy easy access to nearby shopping venues, cultural landmarks, world-class restaurants, and hospitals, letting them live their lives to the fullest during their stay at the Continental. The community offers six unique floor plans, each complete with:

Alongside exceptional senior living apartments, the Continental offers a wide variety of resident-only amenities and life enrichment programs. The common areas feature free WiFi, making it easy for residents to read their emails or catch up with friends on social media from their mobile device. On-site concierge staff help residents find fun activities and other resources around town, making outings easier than ever. Residents have access to complimentary transportation thanks to the Continental’s partnership with ride-sharing service Lyft, which lets community members request rides-on-demand free of charge. Thanks to the complimentary ride program, residents can get to any location in Austin in minutes without the hassle of catching public transportation, driving, or parking.
In addition to complimentary transportation, the Continental encourages residents to get out and see the world with their unique travel program. The Continental is part of Sunshine Retirement’s Sunshine Travel Program, which allows residents of certain communities to stay at other retirement living residences throughout the country. Residents can book a flight to California or Oregon (among others states) and stay in one of Sunshine’s guest suites for up to seven days. During their guest stay, residents are welcome to the host community’s resident-only amenities, including social activities, meals, and complimentary transportation around town. The Continental is pet-friendly for cats and dogs that comply with their animal policy. Additionally, the community is smoke-free to encourage healthy habits among their residents. Smoking is not allowed in the common areas or in the apartments without exception.
Residents are welcome to move out at any time after they move in, thanks to the Continental’s convenient month-to-month leases. Instead of signing a contract that locks the resident into a set lease term, residents sign a month-to-month agreement. If a person no longer wishes to live at the Continental, they are welcome to do so without facing any fines, fees, or other consequences that commonly follow ending a set lease term early.
The community’s staff are on-site twenty-four hours a day, providing assistance whenever residents need it. By providing around-the-clock peace of mind, the community’s staff encourage residents to enjoy independence, knowing help is only a few seconds away any time, day or night. Staff members provide weekly housekeeping services to give residents more time to do activities they enjoy, and on-call maintenance professionals are available to assist with apartment repairs.
Staying active is an important part of healthy living. The Continental encourages residents to socialize, explore their hobbies, and stay physically fit through a wide variety of wellness and recreational programs. Residents may attend a group exercise session in the fitness center, a Tai Chi class, or walking club to stay active with friends, then enjoy bingo, dominos, or a movie night in the common areas.
