My husband has moved into Avendelle at Lazy River. This place is phenomenal. They have been the sweetest walkers and caregivers, and it's run by a great man, Darren. My husband seems to fit right in. I'm just amazed by these people. They have listened to everything I've said, and they've tried everything they can. He's adapted so well there. It felt warm and it felt like a home and I thought he would like that better than a hospital-looking place. This is a locked facility, but it was like a home. He can walk into the kitchen and he has done so well. The staff updates me every day, "He's done great today," "He was such a joy today." I can't say anything wrong about this facility. This facility is amazing to me. I know they have puzzles, they have building stuff, and they take them out for walks. He got there at 1:30, and they warmed the food up and they gave him chips, a nice, good old ham and cheese sandwich, and cookies. They gave him iced tea until he pushed it away, he said, "I'm full." I just can't say anything, but wonderful things about this place. When the morning shift gets off, they empty all the trash, mop all the floors, and they clean the kitchen and all the bathrooms before they leave. It has been spotless every time I've been there. It was the best price of any place I went to. It was clean. The staff is wonderful, and they're hands-on. They check on him every five minutes. The price was reasonable.
