My parents were looking for a place to live where they didn''t have to fret about lawn chores, snow removal, cleaning and taking care of an entire house and landscaping. They recognized that after 52 years in North St. Louis County that they wanted to be in closer proximity to my brother and myself here in St. Charles and relax in their retirement. They "shopped around" to many other facilities and decided on Breeze Park for the amenities as well as location. They chose Breeze not just for the amenities, but for the fact that it has many levels of care, from Independent living where my parents lived, to apartments for those wishing to be closer to the facilities in the main building; then the care levels change from independent to assisted living, to the memory care facility along with the REACH short stay section. Both my parents had stayed in REACH for various reasons and were able to come back to their patio home; one time, Mom broke her ankle and stayed there, Dad fell and fractured a vertebrae in his back and needed care, and then was able to come home again. They lived in one of the Patio Homes in Independent Living, and they were so happy with their home, and even more happy to make great new friends. My folks were always very social people; my Mom ended up being on the Welcome Committee for several years until her vision deteriorated and she did not drive any longer. That did not deter either of my parents, though. Through the years they lived at Breeze Park, they would take their dinners often at the Gables Dining Room which we always referred to as "the Big House" and I was lucky enough to accompany them many times. The cuisine was delicious and the servers, mostly younger people, were delightful and friendly. When Derek was the chef there, there were some really extraordinary meals that we all enjoyed very much. With Covid, we were not able to go to the dining room, but the meals were delivered to my Father, as we lost Mom right before the whole Covid shutdown. Those young servers then became delivery persons and brought meals to all those in the patio homes and apartments. It was a great way to keep the residents with at least a variety of things for them to eat as opposed to cooking for themselves every single meal. My Dad was lost without my Mom and her wonderful cooking skills so the meal delivery was a Godsend for him. Before Covid, there were so many activities that both my folks participated in and enjoyed; I understand that the bus tours had started back up as the pandemic waned a little, when everyone was getting a bad case of cabin fever, so they could get on the Breeze Bus and get out and about a little while. My mother had her hair done almost every week at the beauty shop on property, and Dad enjoyed his every Monday morning pool group of cronies. They''d shoot pool and gossip and laugh for hours! My mother had been a schoolteacher so she and Dad both enjoyed Trivia Night on 2 Wednesday nights each month, and Dad always brought Tootsie Pops as prizes for the winners of the Trivia Night. We lost Dad on February 25th of this year (2022) exactly 25 months from the day of my Mom''s memorial service at Breeze Park Chapel, and like Mom, Dad''s service was there as well and officiated by Pastor Dave, and it was so gratifying to see so many people able to gather and celebrate the life of my Father. They both wanted their memorial services to be at Breeze Park so their friends at Breeze could attend, and they did! There were so many people it was standing room only in the chapel that day. I will miss the friends that my parents made at Breeze Park very much. I knew most of the "regular" employees there because I was there with my parents so often. I will check in on those friends often, because they are a loving connection with my parents. Thank you for the opportunity to laud Breeze Park Lutheran Senior Living Services. We are so thankful that our parents chose Breeze Park to spend the last 10 years of their lives living, laughing and loving there.

I want to share our family''s experiences about the Breeze Park facility and its staff. Our father moved into Breeze Park in January of 2021 after being able to live independently for over 100 years. Being independent that long, the family was concerned how well he would fit into an assisted living environment. All of our concerns quickly melted away after a very short period of time. After some heavy convincing with our Dad to move in, he acclimated quickly to the wonderful accommodations and staff. He spent a very happy and healthy time in the facility. When you walk into the complex, it gives you the feeling of a hotel vs. a long-term care facility. It is clean, spacious and well maintained. All of the staff are very competent and friendly to the residents and their families. Whenever we had a concern about our Dad, the staff worked with us on a very personal level to remedy the concerns. Early this year, at 102 years of age, our father became ill and was in and out of the hospital several times before being placed in hospice care at Breeze Park. The staff worked with us to place him in the best possible area in the facility as current residents get first priority for any higher level of care that they require. The nursing staff in the complex are very competent and worked closely and well with the hospice nurses to make sure that Dad was comfortable in his final days. Having our Dad at Breeze Park was the best decision possible. If you are looking for a long-term care facility for your loved ones, take a look at Breeze Park. You won''t regret it.

I would like to thank the maintenance staff for working to continuously clear our roads during the winter storm. I would also like to express my appreciation for the 29 Breeze Park staff who stayed overnight to ensure myself and the other residents were cared for. The staff at Breeze Park went above and beyond to care for residents during this time. Breeze Park has a variety of amenities to enjoy as a resident. Independent Living has 2 dining areas, a swimming pool, and movie theater. The Lifestyle Enrichment staff provide a wide variety of activities for all to enjoy. Religion is an important part of Breeze Park, we have numerous religious services and practices available to meet all needs. I have been a resident of Breeze Park for nearly 10 years, been in every level of care from Independent Living to the Care Center and am comfortable and satisfied. If you’re looking for a Retirement Community or skilled nursing facility, I hope you keep Breeze Park in mind.
