Ingleside Retirement Apartments was very good. They showed me the one-bedroom. I was expecting like a one-bedroom and a kitchen and unfortunately, they couldn't accommodate me with that so they gave me something with no kitchen. Everybody greeted you. The room was very good and clean. The staff who gave me the tour was wonderful in explaining it, took me around, and identified me with the facility. The food was good. The dining area was good. It was organized good. Everything was well. The only thing that wasn't good was when I got denied. They have different programs, movies, and things of that nature.

Ingleside Retirement Apartments appeared to be neat and clean. The rooms, I thought, were really nice. The staff who accommodated me during my tour was very thorough in explaining and answering all questions necessary. They offered a lot of activities. They had a walking tour when they had a bus that was going to the farmer's market or somewhere, and the calendar that we viewed seemed to have a lot of activities. We spoke with some of the residents and we even spoke to the floor captain or something, and they were most accommodating and friendly. The dining area looked nice and clean. The explanation they had about the food was that they even had continental breakfast, which I thought was pretty cool.

What I liked the least about Ingleside Retirement Apartments was the size of the room. I was looking more for a full apartment and what they had was just a room where you had to bring your own refrigerator. It was just a big living room that you can fix up with a bed or a sofa, and that wasn't what I was expecting. So, it wasn't a match for me. It looked more like what we used to call an old folk's home. Maybe because they have dependent care there and I guess it looks more like a dependent care place, not independent living. It's an older building. So, it wasn't very modern to me and you could tell when you entered the property. The general admitting area looked very old-fashioned, like it had been around for a long, long time. Now what's interesting is that they have a small specific site that looks totally brand new with new floors, new walls, and new apartment units, but they are only for people that are in hospice and that are actually in the final phases of their life. I would have rather lived on that site. Even though the rent was reasonable, the overhead charge was an additional $600 and that overhead charge was so that they could provide you meals. For my own personal spiritual reasons, I don't eat a lot of things and I told the lady that I would eat more like salads and meatless meals other than fish, and she brought me a salad and it looked OK. It was fresh lettuce and everything on it, but I couldn't live like that. The only thing they could offer me a lot would be salads, but the tour experience I had was very professional and informative. The lady was very upbeat and positive. She was able to answer questions and she wanted to give you a good tour experience.

We went to Ingleside Homes Inc. yesterday. The tour was very informal. The staff took us around and showed us everything available for my brother to participate in. The rooms were very clean and roomy. They take trips to Wal-Mart, and they go to beaches. They have a movie theater and games. They do all kinds of stuff. It was very good to know that they had all that available. The building itself was good and clean, and everything was orderly. They have a lawn, a game room, and a library, too. They have books that have big letters so it is not hard for you to read. They have a lot of good stuff going on in there.
