Being a responsible reviewer, it deeply pains me to share my terrible experience at Medford Leas Nursing Home. I feel compelled to shine a light on the numerous issues I encountered during my stay, which showcased the facility''s complete disregard for the well-being and dignity of its residents. At Medleas Nursing Home, the level of care provided to patients was abysmal, to say the least. The staff consistently ignored call bells, leaving patients feeling neglected and vulnerable. It was shocking and disheartening to witness firsthand how residents would desperately wait for assistance, only to be met with indifference or even abhorrent treatment. To add insult to injury, the behavior exhibited by some staff members towards residents was nothing short of disgraceful. Instead of providing the compassionate care one would expect, several employees could be overheard using vulgar language and derogatory terms when referring to patients. This not only displayed an alarming lack of professionalism, but also revealed a complete absence of empathy or respect for those they were being paid to care for. In one particularly distressing incident, it became evident that one of the nurses on the third floor had taken up the habit of vaping. This not only poses potential health risks to patients who may be sensitive to such substances, but it also sends a distressing message about the values and priorities of the staff. Vaping within the premises of a healthcare facility is not only unprofessional, but it also sets a poor example for residents and other staff members. Moreover, the overall ambiance of the nursing home was deteriorated and unkempt. Frequently, the common areas and patient rooms appeared unclean, which raised serious concerns about hygiene practices within the facility. This neglectful environment further added to the growing list of reasons why med leas Nursing Home fails to meet even the most basic standards of care. One expects a nursing home to be a place of security, support, and compassion. Regrettably, med leas Nursing Home falls far short of these expectations. It is disheartening to witness such negligence and disregard for the wellbeing of vulnerable individuals. I strongly caution anyone considering this nursing home for their loved ones to seek alternatives that prioritize the care, respect, and dignity of residents. It is my sincere hope that my review will serve as a catalyst for change and encourage the management of medleas Nursing Home to address the severe issues plaguing their facility. No individual should have to endure such horrendous treatment, especially under the guise of professional care.

creepy and unsanitary. i worked in the dining room awhile back and quitting was the best decision i ever made. our manager was inappropriate to many of my female co workers and also did nothing to stop the blatant sexual harassment many of my co workers faced from usually much older men. also nobody would wear hair nets in the kitchen, especially the other boys(i would even though i had short hair), and i witnessed one of the head chefs TAKE A SPOONFUL OF SOUP OUT OF THE BROTH, EAT A SCOOP OF SOUP AND THEN STIR THE POT AGAIN. WITH THE SAME SPOON. i was miserable working here. it truly was an awful experience. work somewhere else where people will value you and treat you with actual respect and dignity. you can get a job making minimum wage anywhere so don’t work here because you’ll be treated horribly while doing it.

This place is horrible. Please do not send your loved ones here. The nursing staff are silly and do not care for them. I have overheard them joking and teasing residents for pooping themselves or the bed and it is just utterly horrifying. This has happened on numerous occasions when I have been there. Its horrible and I cant stand for it anymore. I constantly am hearing the residents call bells go off and the nursing staff either making a noise or a swear when they have to God Forbid get up to tend to a resident that cant tend to themselves. Its very sad and I hope they pick up the slack.

It is so sad that a horrible "anonymous" person(s) have left a review so hateful & unfounded against our fine community. I have been an employee of this fine establishment for 41 years & I would never work anywhere else! We have had employees from time to time come through who have not been "a good fit" but this attack is unfounded. "Jeanine" is a fake account and has been reported as such. The funny thing is..these "anonymous" people continue to collect a paycheck every 2 weeks & would never leave Medford Leas ever! 🤣😂 If it is so bad & you wouldn''t recommend to anyone..why can''t you see your way to the door?? (We wish you would) Now that is the question..?🤦♀️🤷♀️

Part 2 In the last year there have been instances of employee stealing checks from assisted living residents. There was an investigation but no one was proven to be the culprit. Nor do they have any idea what else has been taken to the from these residents as the only residents that realized the checks were being stolen, were lucid residents. There have been instances of staff leaving demented residents in rooms in the dark and not putting them to bed. Several staff have reported verbal abuse going on and the management just ignores the reports or moves the abusive staff member to a different floor. The management does not care about the employees and rarely helps with any staffing issues. They are finally having to show up now because very few staff that will offer to help due to poor example that management sets. When management works, they take the easiest floor and stay for two hours, then leave or hide in their offices. There have been multiple occasions when a single nurse is responsible for 40 or more residents and the outside apartments for emergencies. The scheduling Coordinator barely does her job when she is there and is always claiming to be working from “home”. Nurse Managers have been witnessed telling staff multiple times” we are not here to cover your shifts. We are management”! Also, in the thick of the Covid pandemic the DON Cathy and Manager Ashley were basically working from home most of the time while staff were struggling with testing and outbreaks. The most recent Covid outbreak that occurred in July 2023 over a weekend management did not even bother to show up and support the weekend staff. There were multiple sick residents on multiple floors. This has caused more nursing staff to see jobs elsewhere, because of the lack of support. The Manager Kevin was recently investigated for his inappropriate conduct and remarks regarding staff and residents. The staff was asked to come forward and interviewed about his behaviors and yet he still remains employed and continues inappropriate behavior to this day. The Manager Ashley is known for her unprofessional behaviors, profanity in front of demented residents and tantrums. In fact, many complaints had been filed against her in surveys, but they always seem to find a way to blame somebody else for it. These residents pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to live there and deserve better care. Hopefully this will make people aware of the poor management going on there. The employee’s truly care about the residents and their jobs. There is such a fear of retaliation for anything is reported and staff need their jobs. Hopefully the right people will read this and salvage what’s left of what used to be a wonderful place to work.
